I don’t know about you guys, but to me, this is proof that you really can’t go online and call your boss a Nazi and still manage to come away scot-free.
Deadline has reported that Megan Fox is OUT of the Transformers franchise, in favor of “giving Shia [LeBeouf] a new love interest makes more sense for the story.”
While Fox’s PR reps told People that “it was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best,” Finke believes that’s total B.S., and that it was based on a decision purely from director Michael Bay. Genre fans will be able to see Fox later this summer in Jonah Hex.
Last year, when Fox was promoting the film Jennifer’s Body, she told Wonderland that Bay “wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for.” Well, I guess she’s woken up from that nightmare! Nikki goes into the entire battle royale, including statements from Fox, Bay, unnamed writers and crew members, and Fox’s trailer assistant. What say you, Rama readers? This is not really that big of a surprise.
MF’s ‘stock’ has been depreciating greatly as of late (and based on what I have seen I don’t think Jonah Hex will help). Whether MB is a sexist jerk or not, comparing your ‘boss’ to Hitler and a nightmare to work for IN PUBLIC, would probably get anyone fired. And let’s face it, the role MF played in TF, the role could have been easily played by ANY ‘pretty girl’ – sexist, but true.
TF gave her her big break. Personally, I would put up with a lot of ‘jerkiness’ (unless it was something super creepy) if it meant a multi-million payday for a major franchise. Sometimes people don’t know what they have until it is gone.
I don’t know who they should get to be the new love interest. I don’t know if they really need one anyway but someone with a sense of humour/comedic talent would be good.

@ Reading comics since the 60s – LOL! Yeah, I guess so…I guess I can understand it from a marketing stand point to help maybe with the female demographic/teen boy market…But is it necessary? I doubt MF drew anybody in anyways.
Hmmmm, I wonder what about casting Emma Stone of Zombieland fame as the new girl? You know, she can kick zombie-ass, I am sure she could kick some Decepticons around and maybe Shia too…

She will be missed solely for her visual contributions. Her acting in those films is so lackluster that I cannot even remember her character’s name.
Of course the only reason I remember Shia Lebeof’s character is because Optimus Prime says it in that awesome voice.
