I don’t know about you, but my calendar is already marked for July 20, 2012, which is the official release date for the untitled “Batman 3″ of the Nolan-verse. Now, of course this date could change, but seeing how TDK came out around the same time almost 2 years ago (wow, times flies) you would think they would aim around that time again.
So I guess casting and filming should start roughly by the end of this year now that “Inception” has wrapped.
Let the speculation games begin.

Two more years?? Ugh… I guess that’s not unexpected. It just seems like an eternity though. Hey, as long as it’s as good as the first two, I’m cool with the waiting.
No, who am I kidding? I want it NOW.

What kind of dark villains would make this movie, a “can’t miss”?
Dark Knight had the Joker going for it.
But do you seriously think Catwoman, Riddler, and possibly the Penguin would make this movie worthwhile. I’ve seen some of the speculation on Catwoman (Megan Fox, Angelina, Cher, Miley Cyrus – YUCK!, etc) and some of them look down right ridiculous.
I’d like to see Nolan do something with Owlman or what if Bruce Wayne had to face, “himself”? No enemy more challenging than yourself. Anyways, 2 more years and plenty of more time to sift through stories like these and aimless fanboy comments. Like mine..hahah

My prediction for the title of Nolan’s 3rd Batman movie is simply…
The Batman.
Since Batman begins, The Dark Knight, Batman Returns and Batman Forever all have been used, “The Batman” is the most logical title to use for Nolan’s 3rd installment in this post Schumaker Batman franchise. Unless Nolan’s film will focus on Batman’s detective prowess, then using Batman: World’s Greatest Detective would be unwise. I really think that “The Batman” is the obvious choice as the title for the next movie.
As far as the plot/story is concerned…Nolan should introduce Curt Langstrom (the ManBat) as a villain, who further increases the suspicion, distrust and anger towards Batman, by going on a violent rampage against the citizens of Gotham. Manbat’s attacks are mistaken as the actions of Batman, but Commissioner Gordon and Batman work together to expose the truth. While Batman uses his keen detective skills to get to the bottom of the ManBat situation, he has to also evade the law, as well as the mercenary Deadshot and every other opportunist who’re trying to cash in on the bounty. Gotham could also get a visit from a hero who also wants to get to the bottom of the ManBat issue…Green Arrow and as Oliver Queen, he befriends fellow billionaire, Bruce Wayne and eventually realizes that Batman is one of the good guys. By the end of the movie, after Batman and Green Arrow take down ManBat, Deadshot and several criminals that escaped in Batman Begins, Green Arrow could get arrested and sentenced to the Super Max Prison, which would be an awesome segue to the much delayed, Green Arrow: Super Max movie, that’s been on-the-table for quite some time.
It might sound like a lot of content to cover, but Nolan did a great job juggling multiple plots in the Dark Knight, he can definitely handle this plot I’m proposing.
It all could work.

I really don’t think you’ll hav to worry about Megan Fox, Cher or Miley Cyrus showing up in the next movie. Who said Catwoman, Riddler or Penguin would be in the movie? And even if any of them are, I will bet you that Nolan will find a way to make them different from the cliched, 60′s TV show, view that most people have of those characters.
In Nolan I trust.
Anyhow, no there won’t be a Joker next time. So what? Plenty of other interesting characters/ideas to go with. No, it probably won’t match TDK’s box office. It doesn’t have to. It’ll still be a big success, and it will most likely be another great movie.

I’d like to see Nolan’s take on Poison Ivy, particularly if it leans more toward the eco-terrorist and away from poisoned kisses.
But I’m sure whatever catches his fancy will be wonderful.

There is nothing more humorous than fanboy suggestions for plots/storylines.

I agree with max. Poisen ivy as an eco terrorist.
But i think cat woman is going to be in it. As batmans only real love interest ever, cat woman seems like a obvious choice now that racheal is scattered around gotham.
Aslong as they dont me any of the villains camp, which im sure they wont, itl still be good regardless of who the villain(s) is/are.

Man Bat sounds like a great idea. It should be something dark and nothing is more dark than half bat, half man creature. Sure it borders on supernatural/horror with vampires and some would think its trying to be derivative of the current trend thanks to Twilight, but its gritty and work perfect for Batman’s dark/gothic atmosphere. Last thing we need is chilidish humor, comedy and the travesty of Batman Returns to Batman and Robin. Jack Nicholson was great with his black comedy in the first film but Jim Carey sure as hell wasn’t.
