The point here is that an informed opinion is far more valuable than an uninformed one, Kyle.

You can dislike the character all you like, but as a reporter at an entertainment website you should make the effort to try know what it is that you are talking about, other wise you come off as a fanboy with a blog, and there is a thousand other people who already do like.

There were two characters called Bloodshot in the comics.

The first version (the original) was called Angelo Mortalli, a mafia hitman framed for murdering a rival crime lord who agrees to turn evidence against his former employers, who pay off a corrupt FBI agent to betray Mortalli and sell him off to Hideyoshi Iwatsu, a Japanese tycoon obsessed with immortality who subjects Angelo to an experimental process called Project Rising Spirit, which infuses his body with nanite-rich plasma that turns him into Bloodshot.

The second version was called Raymond Garrison, an undercover government agent working for the DOA, a fictiional government agency that brings him back from the dead using a project dubbed Lazarus, which infuses his body with nanite-rich plasma that transforms him into Bloodshot.

Not so much having a bad day, just that 1990′s comics are just so easy to poke fun at. C’mon BLOODSHOT? Who’s his archnemesis DR. VISINE?

And the vest with no shirt…classic 1990′s…amd this silly red spot on his chest with the white skin…did the creators not realize that makes him look like the Japanese Flag? He’s a mafia guy right?

Every single thing you’ve said about Bloodshot is wrong as it pertains to the original version.

“A nano-enhanced mob hitman re-animated by evil government scientists, and robbed of the memories of his past.”

The original Bloodshot was not revived by government scientists, he was revived by a Japanese corporation owned by a tycoon obsessed with immortality.

The second version was revived by a fictional government agency.

“Packing the obligatory high caliber firearms and clad in a vest with no shirt underneath, he blew people away in the name of revenge, justice, and speculator dollars.”

While the original version, the one with the vest, did in fact set out to take revenge on the people who stole his memories from him and turned him into Bloodshot, his primary motivation was to rediscover who he really was. Weapons-wise, he mainly used a sword and an Eagle pistol. Hardly high-caliber firearms.

The second iteration was armed to the teeth.

“Not having read any BLOODSHOT”

Means that you’re in no position to offer a critique or an opinion of any kind about the character.

Maybe you should educate yourself more about the character before you offer your opinions as fact.

dude. that is harsh. just because you bought a stack of youngbloods and brigades (rub the blood covers) that liefeld put out doesnt mean you should trash a book you clearly havent read. bloodshot is a valiant book and they focus on story. bloodshot is actually a pretty good character with some good depth. the second volume is even better. i could really see this working as a film.
