The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the role of Shane has been cast for the forthcoming AMC pilot based on “The Walking Dead”. Rick’s fellow police officer will be played by Jon Bernthal, known for “The Ghost Writer”, “Eastwick”, and playing Al Capone in the second “Night at the Museum” film.

Nice. His haircut is from 1994.

Because, you know, no one has ever cut their hair for a role.

One of the worst film haircuts ever: Mark Hamill’s, in Star Wars: A New Hope.

Are we this desperate for Walking Dead news? How about a date for the pilot? How about a full cast run down?

So the guy named ‘great cuts’ defends the actor with the ‘Boy meets world’ hair?!? Odd (and ironic!) coincidence
It’s probably his sister defending the haircut she gave him

Oh, and btw. His haircut IS a riot. I’ve seen better ones in my pants!

Well JMS if your haircut in your pants looks like that then Im sure you have been the only one to ever see inside your pants…..lol

Ouch. Touche, sir. Good call

I’m going to hope he’s not as awful as he was on Eastwick.

It’s not bad but i’m way more interested in whose gonna play a main character. If all goes well this dude will be dead soon anyways.

@T Mackiewicz
I think that this is the first news of this kind at all for the show. How can they set a friggin’ date without a cast to shoot the show with? How can the bloggers give a full cast rundown if this is the first guy cast? People don’t think before they post, do they?

the article’s not up to date on his credits as he was great in the first 2 episodes of HBO’s “THE PACIFIC”.

Wow. Where have I been? Didn’t even know someone was going to pilot “Walking Dead.” Who’s playing Rick? (Cuz, you know, I don’t want to google it to find out when I can ask you guys.)

I don’t hate this casting but I thought there was some kind of law that if you’re a cop called Shane, you had to be played by Walton Goggins (who would, incidentally, have killed in this role)?
I’m kind of rooting for Josh Holloway for Rick, but I’d be surprised if he jumps into another possible multi-year commitment that quickly.
