It looks like you don’t need Hercules or Amadeus Cho to see Reilly Brown make magic.
Check out the Harry Potter drawing by the Prince of Power artist, over on his DeviantArt blog. Paging Warner Bros. and Scholastic — can this guy draw the HP comic for real?

I’ve been wanting an HP adaptation for YEARS. It really doesn’t make sense they don’t. Great find, David.

That’s a great piece.
For me, though, the time for a Harry Potter comic has come and gone – I always thought that Mike Wieringo would have made the perfect choice for artist – http://heyoscarwilde.com/?s=Mike+Wieringo – and I don’t think I can see anyone else doing it now.

That’s pretty awesome art, and it ALMOST makes me want to see an HP comic. Almost.
As much as I love the HP books and most of the films (I found the last two movies vile for all the changes they made) I’m still not sold on the idea of an HP comic. Unless JKR wrote, and had complete editorial control over, each and every issue published, I wouldn’t trust it to be any good at all. I’m guessing that’s just not something she’s going to want to do.
Further, what stories would they tell? We got those seven full years of Harry’s life… Where do you go from there? There might be other cool tales to tell about the wizarding world that Harry and his friends live in, but if JKR feels that there’s more to tell (maybe even adventures of adult Harry as an Auror?) let her do it. In another novel. Or a collection of short stories, or whatever it is she wants to do.
I just think some things should be left alone and enjoyed for what it is. Don’t let Harry Potter fall into the same pit Star Wars has.

I’d be completely up for there being a comic, but it would HAVE to stick to the original books like glue. And that could be lengthy and problimatic. The films are absolutely dire, they’ve made a complete mess of them. Which puts me off any sort of adaptation that they could want to do.
I do, however, love this picture.
