I found that interesting. I have not read White Like She and that makes me want to take a look. It goes to show that Bob is a very thoughtful guy and keeps growing as an artist.

Richard, did you give GWB the same sort of benefit of the doubt regarding the “dot com bust” that carried over from Clinton’s term? Should GWB have used every opportunity to blame the excesses of the Clinton era?

The planning of 9/11 occurred mostly under Clinton as well. Do you believe GWB should’ve pointed that out at the time and constantly blamed his predecessor?

The left’s unbalanced hatred of GWB from 2001 – 2008 leaves them little room for criticizing anyone’s constitutionally-guaranteed right to protest the current president or his successors.

As a naturalized American citizen, I love and respect this country and its institutions. For nearly a decade, the left in this nation threw the most vile tantrum against GWB. Now, though, the merest hint of criticism of obama gives them the vapors. If the left were consistent in their belief that Dissent is Patriotic, it wouldn’t be a problem. Tt’s the blantant hypocrisy they’ve shown towards anti-obama protests that’s just so annoying.

Well, for six of those eight years GWB and his party controlled the White House and Congress. For six of those eight years what they wanted to do, they could without much opposition.

Obama has only been in office for a year and his party in control of Congress for three years.

So, tell me again why GWB and his party shouldn’t be taking the brunt of the blame for our economic woes, jobless problems, continued conflicts overseas, etc… since they were in controlling power that helped lead us to our situation now.

It’s not as if all these problems sprung out of nowhere the day after Obama took oath of office.

Unless that’s what you believe……

Washington is a shell game. The power rests with the corporations who buy their candidates and elections (now legally, thanks in no small part to the Supreme Court) and in the media, which the Right has controlled since about five minutes after Reagan’s bizarre and hilarious concept of the “liberal media” began to take hold in the collective Republican psyche and became a talking point for the Right.

Of course, we can’t expext Fingerman to speak Truth To Power to those who, you know, are actually in power.

I suppose Fingerman must’ve been in a coma from 2001 – 2008, where GWB was blamed by the left for everything from the Indonesian tsumani to global warming. Then again, I’m sure Fingerman had no problem blaming GWB for all the world’s ills. But let people on the right blame obama for anything? Why, that’s horrible! Terrible! Off with their heads for daring to criticize authority!
