Now here is a bloody nice concept.
Lionsgate has put out the final domestic redband trailer for Kick-Ass, based on the popular comic series by Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr. Of course, you can watch just any trailer, but in lieu of the movie’s ultra-violent attitude, you can just blow this one up. Or shoot it, stomp it, kick it, cut it, beat it. Whatever your fancy may be.
If you want to, that is.
There are actually two ways to watch this: one being in Kick-Ass mode and other, well, not so violent. Just turn Kick-Ass mode off and enjoy the ride.
I can’t decide if I’m more excited for this or Clash of the Titans.
Kick-Ass opens up April 16th, 2010.

i had no interest in this after the first pg13 trailer (thought it looked like mystery men)and having not read the comic. now i think it might be the best movie ever made.
February 19th, 2010 at 5:16 pm
Well that’s two minutes of my life I can never have back….
February 19th, 2010 at 5:33 pm
He said COCK!! WTF?
February 19th, 2010 at 6:04 pm
I like the comic, a lot, but the movie? I think I’m gonna pass. Big Daddy costume is just plain stupid.
Peace.

AWE
SOME
February 19th, 2010 at 6:54 pm
That looks awesome
February 19th, 2010 at 7:20 pm
Its going to be fun n ultra violet. Red the comic book and i’m thinking the movie will be like Kill Bill vol 1 minus the Tarantino-isms. Dont know if Vaughn can pull it off like Quentin can

This movie ought to give the Hannity’s and Palin’s some sound bites but after reading the comic it is IMO a big yawn.
Millar missed the mark on this project by about a year. The Shock schlock over the top blood and genitalia humor is played out.
Well at least it is for me but who knows, I hate “Jersey Shore” as well and MTV uses that for a tentpole now.
February 19th, 2010 at 9:05 pm
Just read the last issue of the series (which now seems to be the fist “book”, go figure) today, and the movie looks like it’s going to be much better than the comic. Trailer looks great, by the way.
February 19th, 2010 at 9:10 pm
Actually that was a she
February 19th, 2010 at 9:14 pm
Wow, I totally can’t wait for this now.
February 19th, 2010 at 9:28 pm
This movie looks like such a better adaptation than the one for Wanted.
Crazy violence, and hit girl is spot on.
February 19th, 2010 at 10:22 pm
That trailer was real good. Looks like it’ll be a fun movie.
But that english teacher? She should of been hot at least! haha…
PS – I actually thought Wanted was a great movie.
February 20th, 2010 at 12:35 am
That is most vulger movie preview I have ever seen I can hardly wait for this movie.
February 20th, 2010 at 2:14 am
@Faust – And officially, now no one respects your opinion.
February 20th, 2010 at 2:41 am
I have to say I agree with Michael M; I haven’t read the comics, but if this movie is any indicator, then I know it’s not for me. I don’t like the whole violence-for-the-sake-of-violence motif that most creators like to go for. So reminiscent of the 90s, and lord knows how that turned out. Watching mindless violence is fine and all, but too much of it after a while gets old quick.
And I hated Wanted; both the movie and the comic.
February 20th, 2010 at 2:42 am
I am glad there not doing that dumb side story where he pretends to be gay. It made me feel like I was watching another stupid romantic comedy
February 20th, 2010 at 7:04 am
@LEW! – Absolutely how I feel. I can’t begin to tell you how little I want to see this film; I read the first couple issues of the comic and was turned off by it, and the trailers have just reinforced by position on the matter.
February 20th, 2010 at 7:49 am
I found Kick-Ass the comic to be another one of those projects by a too-old white guy trying to be “hip with the kids”. Got pretty bored with it pretty quickly. It was no surprise that it was the same guy who did the equally ridiculous Wanted.
February 20th, 2010 at 8:03 am
Wow… some of you guys are no fun! This movies looks fun and funny! Bunch of old men here, old in spirit.
February 20th, 2010 at 11:10 am
Still haven’t seen Avatar yet (soon, though), but this? Opening day!
May have to see it twice. I know I’ll be laughing too hard (and loud) to hear it all.
February 20th, 2010 at 12:53 pm
I loved this comic. I love Millar and Romita Jr.’s work. I also love violence, pointless nudity, immature humor, gore, little girls that decapitate full-grown mobsters, and movies staring Nicholas Cage (even if he does get his head blown off). No pun intended, but this movie is GOING TO KICK SOME SERIOUS ASS! I will be there opening day and I’m waiting for the next volume of Kick-Ass to be released (and they’d better fucking release it!).
February 20th, 2010 at 2:11 pm
The Book was good, I mean, those last 2 issues were great but I don’t see it in the movie. I wonder if it was finished way before he finished writing the book. I’m going to see it but I just don’t think it’ll live up to the book which isnt all that hard since the book isn’t about real SUPERHEROS, no powers and what not.
February 20th, 2010 at 2:52 pm
hot damn, i can’t wait for this. brilliant comic, and the movie looks like it should follow suit. Hit Girl is one of my new favorite characters, hands down. lol!
February 20th, 2010 at 3:26 pm
Brilliant! I am looking forward to it!
February 20th, 2010 at 4:06 pm

I didn’t read the comic, but planned on seeing the movie. Did you really just give out a major spoiler sans warning? If so, would you be offended if I said you were a prick?
February 23rd, 2010 at 8:22 am
What a hunk of tunk
February 23rd, 2010 at 10:18 am
Seems like a pretty slim demographic: people old enough to see this, but still immature enough to get excited by it? Not too many of those.
February 23rd, 2010 at 12:41 pm
@WMorrell – Agreed completely. It works just fine for comics, where you only need a handful of thousands to stay afloat…but a multimillion-dollar film? Not so much.
