In the spirit of a topic I brought up a few weeks ago, your friends here at Super Articulate wanted to remind the fine folks at DC Direct that there’s an A-list character they’ve lagged on for far too long. Don’t get me wrong, The Flash has gotten attention in the last year alone. But for a hero who has an array of villains surpassed in the DC Universe by Batman alone, I’m not alone in being astounded at all the missed opportunities over the years. Though DC Direct can no longer ignore the viability of the Rogues Gallery and supporting cast of the Fastest Man Alive, not when the DC editorial and creative hierarchy has placed Barry Allen at such a premium. So it is with that sentiment that we offer up a solid THREE rounds of Flash-based heroes and villains who need to find their way to our shelves faster than… well, the Flash.

Wave 1: The Flash (Barry Allen), Reverse-Flash (Professor Zoom), Heat Wave, Weather Wizard

Wave 2: The Flash (Wally West), Black Flash, Trickster (Modern), Impulse (Iris) and Jai

Wave 3: Kid Flash (Bart Allen updated), Max Mercury (updated), Pied Piper, Mirror Master (Modern)
FLASH FACT: The fans demand more figures based off the Scarlet Speedster.

No Captain Cold?

I agree. I see Captain Cold over Heat Wave.

While I know the imagery I featured lends itself to Captain Cold, we steered clear of the character primarily because DC Direct has produced figures of him on at least 2 occasions. Plus Mattel has released a Captain Cold figure available at mainstream retail outlets right this very moment.
I readily admit that Mirror Master was also produced several years ago by DC Direct (shoot, half the heroes and villains I listed have been done), but it was our intention to cover more current/surviving members of the Rogues for this piece.

I’m kind of surprised that Mattel hasn’t made the Rogues more of a priority. Once they complete The Doom Patrol and Reign of the Supermen, the Rogues would be a nice line to move on to.
