Not to get distracted by the Fall Out Boy connection, the actual comic is solid and I'm sure Dennika and Gray would like it if they read it. Granted, Umbrella Academy and Fall Out Toy Works are not the same thing and Pete Wentz is not the lead singer. You probably would agree that Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump share the spotlight. As I concluded, whatever the Fall Out Boy connection might be, this is a comic that intrigues me. I'm not especially concerned with the branding. Peace to everyone. Just check out the comic if you like.

I'm going to once again reiterate what I said about this comic prior to its publishing: the difference between this and the Umbrella Academy is that Gerard Way WROTE Umbrella Academy and Pete Wentz is credited (generously) as having "created" the series. That means that, while Gerard Way took the time to work out a script, panel by panel, Pete Wentz could have scrawled out a few sentences on the back of a cocktail napkin and handed it over to another (admittedly talented) creative team.

The Umbrella Academy is the creative work of a single author; Toyworks seems more like an exercise in branding. Beyond the fact that both are by people who are successful rock stars, the two projects are creatively NOT COMPARABLE .
