What uncanny news this morning brings.
Movieweb has confirmed that Bryan Singer will come back to the X-Franchise after a not-so-successful stint in Metropolis. “I just yesterday signed a deal to do an X-Men: First Class origins picture, which is kind of cool. I’m very excited,” Singer exclaimed on the Blue Carpet premiere of Avatar.
This is such a great comic, too. I’d love to see the early adventures of the original five and hopefully they can bring in newer villains, though Rutger Hauer as a younger Magneto would be interesting to see as well. Since X-Men Origins Wolverine was tied to the previous X-Movies’ continuity, I wonder if this movie will follow suit or start anew.
So now that the deal is sealed, what would you readers like to see in “First Class”?

I’d like to see the original five members but Assuming they use it, the X-Men movie continuity contradicts Iceman and Angel being original members. I imagine its going to be closer to the team that brought Wolverine into the mix in the 2000 film.

I am really exicted for this, but Iceman and Angel are not doable unless they decide to reboot the franchise. Personally I’d like to see a team consisting of Cyclops, Storm, Jean, Emma, and Beast. You could pick up right after Wolverine Orgins left off. I think that would be cool. That way you could also use Banshee and a few others if you wanted to. I say use Emma, that way you’ve got another love triangle because Wolvie’s gone.

“Rutger Hauer as a younger Magneto”
Wait, what? Rutger Hauer is only a few years young than Ian McKellen. According to IMDB, McKellan is 70 and Hauer is 65.
I will be all over this. Good job to Fox for going after Singer. I’m curious to see who will be in Singer’s first class.

The only reboot I’m interested in is Daredevil.

As someone who hated X3, I wouldn’t mind a reboot to the whole franchise but the idea of a team consisting a post X3 group of Rogue, Iceman, Kitty, Colossus, Storm, and Wolverine wouldn’t be a bad thing. They could search for Cyclops

Yeah, how about some “Jean blasted me into the past in X3″ Cyclops. Please.

“Cyclops, Storm, Jean, Emma, and Beast. ”
I could live with this. If they feel a need to be beholden to the continuity of the mess this series has become, thats probably the best option possible.

Personally, I don’t care to see younger versions or the ‘origin’ of the original team…I mean, it has already been kind of explored or enough that the average viewer can extrapolate from…Mutants start to appear, Xavier and Magneto start recruiting mutants, their philosophies differ, Magneto leaves and they fight over their differences with some teen angst thrown in. Just seems ‘old’ to do this now…Not much ‘value add’ to the X-Men mythos on the big screen.
I would like to see a WHOLE NEW TEAM. As in the “First Class” after the ‘original group’ or ‘after Xavier’. I think the movies have done an ok job spotlighting some of the higher profile characters…But how cool would it be to see some ‘New Mutants’? How about a chance for Collousus? One of the coolest mutants ever who was TOTALLY wasted in X3. The X-Men brand is big enough now to support without the original characters.

I agree with CapCanuk. Lets have some suprises!
My personal favs are Moonstar and Wolfsbane, but they’re pretty unlikely (as are any of the New Mutants). Still, fingers crossed.
