In an announcement that shocked…well, nobody, really…anyway, in an announcement on their blog The Source, DC Comics has announced that Conner “Superboy” Kent will be returning to the Teen Titans with Teen Titans #81. It’s been expected by fans ever since Geoff Johns made some leading comments at the San Diego Comic Con’s Superman panel in July. DC Comics has also made several comments leading to this conclusion, after Geoff Johns left Adventure Comics and took Superboy’s lead feature with him.
Well, I guess he comes out of Blackest Night on the right side of alive, at least, eh?

That’s a Milestone character he’s fighting, but at first I thought it was a Wildebeest. Now that would have been awesome.

I thought it was Wildebeest at first too!
And I would think this removes the speculation that it’s Superboy in that Outsiders teaser. So Steel to the Outsiders?

It’s so cool that he’s back and glad to see he’ll be okay after Blackest Night.

No… Just please no, let it be a guest starring role.. I don’t know, Im honestly worried about this because of the lackluster story lines in TT and the multiple team reassembling that has gone on. Conner has been through a lot and I really hope that would let the character grow up and hopefully out of a Teen Titan phase. Outsiders would have been great or maybe some new team void of past errors and such. I’m enjoying Adventure so hopefully they will keep him in those stories but I can’t honestly say i’m happy about this news. Being a Teen Titan fan, I can just say I miss the old days but putting Conner on the team, might just make him fall into obscurity with the rest of the members.

I’m torn. On one hand, TT has been so bad for so long, I don’t want to start reading again. On the other hand, I’m a huge Superboy fan since Reign and don’t want to miss anything.
Can’t we just get a Superboy monthly? Are there ownership issues to a monthly title by that name?

I agree with Cisco Kid, Teen Titans has been unreadable for me for a while now and I don’t know if I feel like picking it up just for Superboy.

Im definitely in the same boat as Cisco Kid and Shawn Kane, Im getting hope, hearing that during “War of the Supermen” storyline that 4th Super book would be released. Adventure Comics is returning to its old numbering after Blackest Night.. I’m hopeful but DC has let me down before so we’ll see..

Conner as an Outsider makes no sense. What does Superboy have to be “alienated” about???
