Not to sound obnoxious but there among people who read Salman Rushdie, Midnight's Children is far and away his most acclaimed and best known book. The novel won the Booker prize in England and years later was named the best book to ever win the Booker Prize. It's huge.

Also people may have heard of the title "The Satanic Verses" but almost no one read the book. (That includes the people who banned it and condemned it)

Too bad, it's good

And yes, for the record, Midnight's Children is better than the television series Heroes.

Agreed... I've never read Rushdie, but the one book of his I know about is The Satanic Verses. This Midnight's Children book sounds interesting, however, although I sure hope it's better than Heroes is.

Midnight's Children is his most famous work? I've never heard of it. I'd've thought it'd be Satanic Verses. You know, what with people wanting to kill him over it and all...

Cheers,
