“Planet Hulk” DVD art revealed

October 9th, 2009

Courtesy of Pop Candy’s Whitney Matheson, the DVD cover art for the “Planet Hulk” straight-to-DVD movie is finally revealed. Now, I don’t necessarily agree with the opening statement of “If you’re a comics fan, you’re an Alex Ross fan,” but I think he drives home the point here.

The DVD arrives in stores Feb. 2, 2010.

Looks a big fat zero. Was the comic this bad?

  2. Ian Says:

The comic was pretty good. It was basically Hulk as a Gladiator-cum-Liberator of the downtrodden story, but it was well executed. It looks faithful to the book story beat-wise and if they actually keep some story in there (unlike the Hulk Vs. which was pretty terrible) this could be Marvel’s first really good animated movie.

About the DVD cover - I feel like I’ve seen Ross do that pose millions of times. It’s nice and all, but all too familiar. Oh and the Planet Hulk logo is just ugly looking. The right justification of “planet” with the weird line looks really off balance.

“If you’re a comics fan, you’re an Alex Ross fan,”

Wow, I couldn’t think of anything further from the truth.

“If you’re a casual comic observer, and just like soul-less copied photographs the belong on collectible plates, you’re an Alex Ross fan”

Am I the only one that thinks that Ross is an over-paid, over-hyped photoshop filter?

Seriously folks, he’s the Thomas Kinkade of comics.

Anyway, Hulk vs was actually a lot of fun, Deadpool has never been funnier, count me in.

Yes, because what the hell does photoshop have anything to do with this?
