Wouldn’t those Doom Patrol sales numbers indicate that the current series would end at #16? If #1 is selling like #3 did, wouldn’t #16 sell like #18 did? (Obviously, it’s unlikely that the pattern will hold so perfectly, but I’m playing along with your conceit.) I don’t understand how you’re getting #21.

Math! My Achilles' heel!

I am also a huge fan of checking out the monthly sales charts. By the way, the record industry allows Billboard magazine to report actual sales numbers for albums each week. So, it's not unheard of.

+ I am not familiar with this "heat" you describe surrounding Jane Austen. At any rate, there doesn't seem to be much of a market for comic book adaptations of classic literature regardless of the author.

Just read your write up, and I totally agree with your assessment of Trinity. About mid way I stopped looking at it as a typical comic book event and enjoyed it as a stand alone cosmic super hero epic, and I enjoyed it a lot more. I'm looking forward to picking up all 3 trades and rereading it in a single weekend.

How did you feel about Trinity? Like, dislike, or ambivalent?

Like. If there were a quality spectrum, and Countdown was one, 52 ten and Wednesday Comics nine, I'd put Trinity around...seven?

I didn't think it was great, but I enjoyed it, and read every issue. I think I wrote at length about what I liked and disliked specifically before. Hold on lemme google...oh yeah, here, if you're interested:

no, the stupidest desision was buying them and then pretty much remake them to such point that they have nothing to do wih the originals

to be fair the red circle sucked but the ongoing doesnt seem so bad
i actually liked The Shield #1
The Web on the other hand doesnt seem to be lasting
if DC dont tr to put this characters to appear on other series to grab more popularity i can see them gone really soon

DC paying money to use the Red Circle characters have to be the stupidest decision of the year.

First off their fan-following, which they were banking on, is negligible, and second they just did re-imaginings anyway meaning they could have just as easily come up with new rip-off characters. Seriously, what does the Shield bring to the table that another similar character couldn't?

"Here’s hoping DC unveils a new weekly soon, and it’s closer to the 52/Wednesday Comic side of the quality spectrum than the Countdown side"
