Marla Bea Benefit: Comic Art for Breast Cancer Research

October 5th, 2009
Author Lan Pitts

Let’s talk about a good cause.

Beginning on October 12th, there will be an auction for some amazing art pieces and all the proceeds will go to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, in hopes to help find a cure for breast cancer.

This is just damn cool. Some of the artists behind the sketches for auction? Robert Atkins, Tony Moore, David Mack, Art Baltazar, Holly G, Katie Cook, Chris Giarusso, Grant Gould, Herb Trimpe, Todd Nuack, Phil Hester, John Beatty…and so much more. Check out the entire list here.

According to the website, the auction will take place on eBay and will last for 7 days and the sketches will be sold under the seller name “marlabeabenefit.” A link will be provided when the auction starts. All items will start at the same price. No reserves or buy it now pricing. All auctions will be sold in the auction format. S& H charges will be based on the size of the sketches.

Now, I’m an avid art collector (much to the chagrin of my girlfriend) and I’ll be definitely be putting a bid on some of these pieces.
