I thought I read somewhere, not too long ago in fact, that there are two proposed GA movies now? One is the "Super Max" script and the other is more of a "Year One" type treatment that establishes the character (and is certainly what should be done first IMO)? I hope that was accurate, given that the recent Year One mini was really quite good and would be a very accessible film for the masses, if they chose to adapt that. It isn't your typical "origin" story either in that Ollie doesn't actually get into costume until the very end of the series. Well worth seeking out the trade.

The Goyer prison break story may have merit, once Green Arrow's established, but between those stories when the hell would we see Oliie actually being GREEN ARROW??

Personally, I'd love to see an adaptation of Mike Grell's The Longbow Hunters get made. His GA run was still the definitive run IMO (though I love those classic O'Neil/Adams tales too)... Why the hell hasn't any of that been collected yet?

If anything, this sounds more like a case of the second script was around long enough not to ba accused of plagarism, and in fact might actually to be able to make the accusation at the Green arrow script. It's cheaper and easier to buy the rights for the second script and likely pick and choose the best bits from both to get one film. That kind of thing happens a lot, and there's an example on the tip of my tongue but I can't place it. Anyone?

Some who are posting have theorized that the main thing that will get lost will be Green Arrow. Having a regular guy fight supervillains sounds more dramatic than a (albeit non-powered)superhero fighting supervillains to someone who isn't a comics fan.

It'll be a real delight seeing who gets final writing credit.
