I love love love the Ed Mcguinness style of animation.

Ah, that explains why they changed the art style. I miss the usual TimmVerse art, but it’s made up for by having Tim Daly and Clancy Brown back.
Luthor is such a piece of work, ain’t he?

Dude, where’s my Batman?

Yeah the style seems to have translated well into animation and it’s great to hear Tim Daly as Superman again!

See, and I don’t think this looks like McGuinness’ art style to me. For being a cartoon, it’s less, um, “cartoony” than McGuinness’ stuff. I like it a lot better than McGuinness. It’s not the Timm-verse style either, but somewhere in between I guess.
Between this, and the one big change from Loeb’s script that I’m aware of, replacing the meteor thing with framing Supes for murder, and it bodes well for this movie.
I don’t suppose they got rid of somehow changed Captain Marvel and Hawkman kicking the crap out Supes and Bats, did they? I hated that part.

Not a fan of the style. The animation itself is smooth though.

Not crazy about the style either, but I could put up with stick figures as long as the original voice talent is back

The backgrounds are Blue-Ray eye candy, the writing and action sequences look great as well. The animation is very cool except for two things, the hand and facial details. Something about the nose bothers me…
On the other hand, the animated movement is almost lifelike, complete with whooshing of the cape (and motion blur to boot!), and colorful lighting effects. I would say that, overall, the animation is as good as it can get with the time and budget limits.
Superman looks awesome in this movie, and with Conroy as Bats, you can’t go wrong!
I hope this film is widely successful so that DC can make more
comic book adaptations and get enough financial support for theatrical quality animation.
