More to the point, the hue and cry was as much over the fact the deaths were deemed worth scripting at all, as opposed to trying to further build the Global Guardians brand into a franchise of its own. Geoff Johns went to some trouble when &lt;b&gt;Green Lantern&lt;/b&gt; relaunched to contribute to achieving that latter goal for those characters.

And I&#039;ve noticed Tasmanian Devil(DCU edition) has multiple fanbases in different segments of the comics-reading population. Something there to build upon, just as there is in what Greg Rucka&#039;s been doing with the current Batwoman and Question in &lt;b&gt;Detective&lt;/b&gt;, for two other examples.</description>
