Scream Awards 2009

September 1st, 2009
Author Lan Pitts

The Scream Awards, to me, are a combination of the MTV Movie Awards and the Saturn Awards. They represent the best in horror, fantasy, and sci-fi, but voted on by the fans. Though the Screamies (?) also include comic-related categories such as Best Comic Writer, Artist, Movie, etc. Also, it should not be that much of a shocker that shows like True Blood (which IS a damn good show), BSG, Lost, Fringe and movies such as Watchmen, Star Trek, Twilight, Let The Right One In have dominated this year in nominations.

I think it is a bit cool to have a nomination (ie Best Supporting Actress) that combines both TV roles and movie roles.

I watched last year’s award show, mainly just to see how many awards The Dark Knight picked up (it was seven).

The 2009 Scream Awards airs October 27th, on Spike.

    It’s too bad Let the Right One In is going to lose literally every category it’s nominated in, because it’s so much better than every single other movie they nominated it’s ridiculous.

    Am I the only one who thinks Spike TV is the worst representation of a genre channel? I can’t really get into these awards because they will be voted on by guys who watch Cops, UFC, beer and Big breasted women and call this “Sci-Fi.” Its just as bad as G4 has become… the stereotypical horny straight white male channel is what they should call it >_>;

    Yayyyyyyyy!!! I see another repeat of the 2009 Mtv Movie Awards. Twilight is going to kick ass as usual whether the haters like it or not. There are just too many of us whp have fallin in love with this story. When we all come together our voice is definetly going to be heard. They have all my votes whether or not the guys are going to be doing most of the voting. This year I think Spike will have a new audience watching their so called award show (females). Opinions, Opinions right?? More like a true fact!
