Breaking news from Marvel’s Twitter feed:
BIG NEWS: Lots of classic Marvel Digital Comics are coming to the PSP! We’ll have the full details on Marvel.com in a little while!
Meanwhile, at a live event in Cologne, Germany announcing the development, Executive Vice President of Marvel’s Global Media Group Ira Rubenstein have said that “hundreds” of Marvel comics will be available in North America and the UK starting in November of this year.
The reader will have autoflow, cycling through the images at a setting of your choice. Sony reps say that additional partners for the PSP distribution will be named later.

Awwwwww yeah!

should have went the iPhone route…

PSP? They still make those?
Come on, Marvel! It’s all about the Ipod/touch/phone. Most independent publishers already have their comics in the App store.

Yeah yeah is totally right.

I’ll be looking forward to this, both as a Marvel fan and a PSP user. It’ll be great to flip between the latest “Iron Man” comic and play “Assassin’s Creed 2″ or “Little Big Planet.” (Match THAT, Apple.)

I also agree with yeah yeah. Marvel would be better off focusing on iPhone. I love my PSP, but it’s too delicate a piece of hardware to carry around as a multimedia device. Speaking of iPhone, I believe the first issue of the Spider-Woman motion comic hits iTunes tomorrow.

Of course the Apple mobile platforms are where it’s at, which is probably why Marvel went with Sony. They already have media deals between them, and Sony is hungry for mobile content, especially for the PSP audience.

Well Sony must had made a MAJOR deal with Marvel. I do not mind seeing as PSP is trying to make a name for itself. Plus if it doesnt work out Marvel can retool and release it for Iphone to make it popular.

This is about as pointless as putting comics on an iPhone. Artists don’t do all that work on each page to make it fit in a tiny ass screen.

Just read an article on here or CBR, that said iVerse Media has sold or racked up over a million downloads of comics in the Apple AppStore. Just glanced at it, and it’s a lot of Archie and Star Trek comics.
I mean, comics at $0.99 a pop is nice. Definitely a piece of the market that Marvel needs to go after. I’m sure the writers would like to see the extra income, royalties, or whatever they make be distributed digitally.
I definitely would be interested. Wouldn’t mind having at least classic volumes of Marvel comics, then have them figure out a way for New Releases to drop every Weds/Thurs.

YAY!!!! Maybe that will make me want digital comics. Since I have a PSP, and man, it is very good for multimedia uses. I use it a lot for multimedia

Add me to those who would love to see this happen on the iPhone. I already purchase a lot of comics on the iPhone, but I’m a big Marvel fan. I subscribe to Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited, but I’d pay by the issue to get Marvel’s latest delivered to my iPhone at about the same time it hits the comic shops. And the iPhone has a higher resolution screen

Yeah, I just tried my first comic on iPhone — an issue of IDW’s GI Joe for 99 cents — and I thought it worked really well… Much better than I expected. I definitely plan to buy more, although I’m not crazy about the idea of each issue acting like its own separate app. That is going to get out of hand fast.

When they can get them on a device with a screen as big as a comic then give me a call. Until then who cares.

This would have been AWESOME… three years ago…
Ah, Marvel, always two steps behind…
