From World’s Finest, here is the back cover art for the upcoming Superman/Batman: Public Enemies feature coming out to DVD and Blu-Ray this September.

The cool thing about this, is that we have a clue about for the next installment in the “DC Universe Animated Original Movie” line, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. Now personally, I’d like that “Judas Contract” feature to move forward, but maybe that’s just me. It’ll be good to hear Tim Daly, Kevin Conroy and Clancy Brown reprising their famous roles again as Superman, Batman and Lex Luthor, and after seeing the snippet of this movie that was attached with Green Lantern: First Flight, I think we are in for a treat.

Of all the stories to tackle, why this overstuffed tomale?
“Political intrigue”?

Mark, it pains me to agree with you something… But in this case I have to. Great to have Conroy, Daly and Brown all back (though I never minded George Newbern on the JL/JLU shows), but I wish they’d chosen a better story than this one.
I’m not seeing the “political intrigue” of this tale either, and maybe I’m missing something but I never understood how President Lex (are they going to bother to try to explain all of that?) got the JL to do his bidding for him, or how anyone could possibly believe that Supes was behind the kryptonite meteor. There’s also Captain Marvel’s line about how he’s “defeated” Supes before, and to this day I still have no idea what Loeb was referring to.
I still want to see the GL animated movie, but I’ll pass on Public Enemies. Bring on The Judas Contract! Someday. Please?

I think this could be cool, but I agree, it’s not the best choice of story for adaptation. Either way, I hope it’s better than GREEN LANTERN: FIRST FLIGHT. I watched it a couple of days ago and while I thought it was very well animated, the story just dragged for me. I also didn’t really see the point of it. Was it meant to be an entry-level GL story (considering it’s called FIRST FLIGHT)? If so, it failed because you really didn’t get to know much about Hal Jordan. I felt there should have been a little bit of Hal on Earth, learning how to use the ring before Sinestro and the GL Corps came after him. Even for just a minute or two, maybe even during the credits. With him getting the ring from Abin Sur to practically right away getting involved with the Corps, it made Hal seem like the stereotypical infailable and one-dimensional super-hero that he was always accused of being back in the day by some readers and creators. They had such an opportunity to flesh him out for viewers who weren’t aware of the character, and then they just chose to jump to the cosmic stuff which doesn’t really mean much if you don’t have some heart to it, a reason to care about the characters involved. The only reason you had to care about Hal was because he was the good guy. All I can guess is that maybe the folks involved figured that anyone who watched this also watched NEW FRONTIER and got to know Hal well enough there. That shouldn’t count, though, because it’s a different continuity and seperate movie. I dunno, I just didn’t think it was as good as it should have been.
Anyways, I’m excited about Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly, and Clancy Brown returning for PUBLIC ENEMIES. That alone is enough to get me to buy it. I also like the sounds of JUSTICE LEAGUE CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS. Sounds like we’ll get the JSA finally, which should be awesome.

@Shaun, there’s an issue of Morrison’s JLA, where Captain Marvel knocks Superman out. maybe he’s referring to that.
