I thought it was amusing how conservatives painted the latest movie as a statement in support of George Bush and the War on Terrorism, while it's equally amusing how liberals paint conservatives as anarchists and "agent[s] of chaos" as the Joker described himself. How about we see some real informed reporting instead of this back-and-forth ankle biting? The author of the piece isn't elevating the discussion; if she feels that conservatives labeling President Obama as the Joker is dragging the discussion down, she dragged herself down to their level as well by responding in kind. They're the original Batman and Robin. Any sexual tension between them in this movie is mitigated by the fact that the movie is, from all indications, going to have steam-powered robots in it. So if you're worried about this movie staying true to the tone of the original Arthur Conan Doyle stories, homoeroticism is probably the least of your worries. Who cares about Holmes and Watson?
