This explains on why I never saw it at my comic store after I had bought my issue. Th3rd World Studios is pleased to announce that even with a 30 percent over print THE STUFF OF LEGEND VOLUME 1 BOOK 1 has sold out at the publishing and distribution levels. “SOL”‘s second printing will feature a modified “worn” version of the original printing’s cover with a different logo color (order code: JUN098432).
From day one we felt this was the kind of project that had an opportunity to be something special if we could get enough eyes on it. We are happy to see that fans and retailers are giving it a strong chance to succeed in this difficult market,” said Th3rd World co-publisher Jon Conkling.
If you haven’t checked it out by now, Th3rd World provided Newsarama with a preview of the full issue for FCBD this year. It’s original, full of heart, and highly-recommended.

This was the highlight of FCBD for me and the first issue definitely lived up to that promise. Great book.

Awe! Some! I’m glad Th3rd World’s latest is a hit! They deserve it.

Lan, thanks for posting this, any help getting the word out on this second printing is greatly appreciated.
Diggity – Really happy to see you’ve been on board since the get go, that’s the type of support that lead to the books selling out!
Egg – Thanks! Now, go crack the whip on Mr. Dallas, that slacker.

Anybody who hasn’t read this is really missing out. Truly great stuff!

Writer Mike Raicht was at my local comics shop on FCBD. My wife and I were able to chat with him for a few minutes and score an autographed copy of the book. He’s a really nice guy, very easy to talk to, and I’m happy for his success.
By the way, the story and art are great too!

What bothers me greatly is that I pre-ordered this issue, and my shop’s order was shorted, so I never received it. How many small shops who ordered a couple or a few copies never received the issue, and how fair is that to all who faithfully pre-order their books, as I do? While I am glad that it sold out, meaning good numbers all around, I feel cheated because Diamond decided my store didn’t need its order and shorted it. They also shorted my store for the FCBD issue.

Dwight – I was waiting to see who would say it first, thank you for not letting me down.
Kat, we’re sorry to hear that. We have heard the same thing from a few different stores. Please let them know about the second printing in case they don’t already, it should ensure that people get copies. It’s unfortunate when some shops don’t receive their shipment, I’d love to know what actually happens in instances like this, but it definitely doesn’t make our job any easier.

Stuff is the best comic I read this year. Although I am supposed to get it through a subscription service, I am glad I made a trip to a local comic store the day it came out. After I bought the free comic day comic a month or so ago, I had a feeling this would go quick.

Michael: I’m here for you, my friend.
My shop was shorted by Diamond, too. It’s an ongoing trend for small press books, sadly.

Woo-hoo! Go, ‘Stuff’! I picked up the FCBD book along with everyone else, but there’s something about finally having it in the proper square format that is just beautiful. The art deserves to be presented on that kind of scale. Cannot wait for issue 2.

Awesome! I ordered 15 copies for my and we sold out! I admit I threw like 3 copies on eBay though. Amazing art and intriguing story so far. I pushed this on fans of Fables and Mouseguard.

Glad to see this comic doing so well. I had the opportunity to meet C.P. Wilson III this past weekend. A great guy, and an unbelievable artist. His sketch I asked for is amazing.

Wow Krypto, thanks for that. hopefully the FCBD promotion worked in our favor as far as raising product awareness. It seems to have worked so far.
Jim, that’s great. I saw they’re going for a decent amount on e-bay. Did you order during the initial period where we had it setup so that you could buy 3 and get 1 free?
Chris, what did he sketch for you?

Michael,
I had a sketch of Maxwell the bear in the foreground as a toy, with the dark side version of a real bear behind him. The level of detail is amazing. C.P. Wilson seemed surprised people would want sketches. I told him with the quality of his artwork, many will want a sketch. He would have more sketch requests than he could handle if he goes to a NYCC/Baltimore/SDCC show.

He’ll be coming to Baltimore with us again this year, look for him at our Th3rd World Studios booth, we will also have a con exclusive Stuff of Legend Issue 1 sketch version.
I told him the same thing, with his art people are going to want stuff, he’s just amazed that people are asking.

Cover kinda reminds of one of Korn’s album. I feel old now.
