Hollyscoop.com has picked up on an amusing rumor, regarding the possible third Batman film (which Gary Oldman let slip to AICN might start filming as early as next year)…
That Miley Cyrus wants in. And she’s not afraid to cosplay to do it.
Hollyscoop said that the young Hannah Montana star allegedly surprised Warner Bros. execs by arriving fully dressed in her own Batgirl costume, spouting off lines (of dialogue, not anything else, despite what you might think about this situation) that she had made up herself.
She apparently really wants to become Barbara Gordon, even as uber-realist Christopher Nolan has said that in his Batman films, Dick Grayson is “still in a crib somewhere.”
Now, I’ll be honest in saying that I’m pretty sure this rumor is bunk, but that is the rumor going around Hollywood these days. What say you, ‘Rama Readers?

I am not sure how I feel about her playing Batgirl, but I would like to see more of Batman’s reactions to amateurs playing batman (either as vigilantes or as criminals)in the next movie.

Yes. I totally think there’s a chance that Christopher Nolan, who pulled together such actors as Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Wilkinson, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhardt, and Christian Bale would hire Hannah freakin’ Montana to be in one of his Batman movies.
FFS, people, it doesn’t matter what Miley wants, Nolan’s no Schumacher. Forget about whether this rumor is true or not, we have nothing to fear.

Funny thing… that’s precisely why I’d have faith if such casting were announced. Because I think he could beat down the celebrity egos and get them to, gods forbid, act.
I don’t know if she’s got the chops to be in the film. But that’s exactly it, I don’t know. There isn’t anything in her resume right now to indicate what she’s capable off once loosed from the House of Mouse, good or bad.
*If* Nolan and company give her the nod, then I’d be willing to take them at their word. I’ve seen plenty with far lower expectations go on to blow people away.

I did find it interesting they never showed Barbara’s face in TDK. The one time she was on screen, she was huddled with her head down. Makes me think they have something in mind for that role and didn’t want to commit to casting.

I could see Ellen Page as Batgirl, play her more like the Carrie Robin from DKR to fill the Robin role too.
And Leelee Sobieski as Catwoman.

Not sure if I’d believe Miley as Batgirl. But I’d definitely go with Miley as Supergirl. In the comics, Kara is young enough for Miley to play her, and Miley’s persona has Supergirl written all over it.
But I doubt they’ll ever do another Supergirl movie.

Which doesn’t matter, since Barbara Gordon (pre-Crisis, at least) was much older than Dick Grayson. Man, I miss those days of Robin trying to pick up Batgirl, who keeps shooting him down. Much more interesting than making them the same age.

Rumour has it that Miley dropped her Prius over fears surrounding the Toyota recall. Apparently not. Seems her pet German Shepherd was getting too large for the Prius. So she opted for a much bigger Mercedes hybrid suv. Talented, wealthy and eco-aware — gotta say one must love Miley.

I admire Lady GaGa. I think she will be around for a long while. Did you know that she gets many of her clothes at a resale store? Ya, she really does! I love her outfits. Of course, she doesn’t get all of her clothes at consignment shops, but a lot of her stuff is old clothing. She looks marvelous regardless of where she buys her clothing!
