Man, I saw the headline and thought "Oh boy, someone's going to mention Smallville slash."

Then they just went in a completely different direction.

Just to confirm--the last statement is indeed meant to be ironic. The judge's reference to "little girls" in connection with "even more incredibly" is a most revealing statement about the perception of Superman & comics as a predominantly male domain.

As for the difficulty in understanding the case, think of it like this: before the judge can determine how to allocate the value of the Superman copyright between Siegel and DC, he has to determine what that property is worth. A key element: the value of the movie & TV licenses. However, because DC sold the licenses to a related party, Warner Bros., the possibility exists that the price WB paid for it is too low--or as it's commonly described, a "sweetheart deal." In this phase of the case, the judge is deciding whether what WB paid accurately reflects what the licenses are worth.

What a weird case. I don't understand any of the reasoning or anything behind it at all even after reading the articles about it on this blog. @_@

I'm really hoping that everyone who reads this catches that the last sentence is meant to be ironic.
