I’d have to guess that “greener” is literal, meaning more money, in that BKV’s probably a pretty hot property now, given Lost and how Hollywood is all over comic book titles right now. And given what a cash cow Lost is, whatever’s next must really be big. Which I speculated that the Y movie may be getting closer to reality.

Unless of course he’s planning to run as a Green party candidate for public office?

NOOOOO!!!

I mean, OK, Lost will probably be fine. I agree with Mr. Wesley that Darlton were probably going to be taking most of the writing chores as the show heads into the home stretch (now 18 episodes, as ABC gave one them one additional hour: woo-hoo!!), but it still hurts.

I have to wonder what these “greener pastures” are too. Perhaps the “Y” movie is starting to pick up steam?

At least there’s still Ex Machina to look forward too. I’m way behind, buying it in trades, and I haven’t picked one up in a while I’ll have to do that soon.

From what I understand, BKV has at least three new creator-owned comics projects in the pipeline. He’s focusing on getting Ex Machina finished first, though. I don’t think writing Lost has significantly affected his comics output (other than giving him the opportunity to leave work-for-hire comics behind).

I remember when BKV said that TV work won’t change his comics output. He was writing 3 ongoings then.

Coming into the home stretch, I assume that Cuse and Lindelhof will be taking a stronger hand in the direction of the final season. Since a lot of shows promote writers into producers, they become top-heavy after more than a few years. His departure will probably have a streamlining effect for the show.
