And so, once again, Marvel torpedoes a book that was arguably the most critically acclaimed Marvel book on the shelves just to bleed out X number of additional sales for a mega-crossover event. This reminds me of when Peter David was doing a fantastic job on Aquaman before being dragged into the Millenial Giants crossover (UGH!). Also, I love the current Old Man Logan story-arc, but I find it hypocritical that Marvel is forcing JMS to submit his title to the big-event madness that is plaguing comic-dom while allowing Mark Millar to write at his own pace uninterrupted. Mind you, Old Man Logan (the best solo Wolverine story ever published) is well worth it, and any additional wait for that excruciatingly sparse publishing schedule would be agonizing, but Marvel should have given JMS similar leeway.

If this is true, just give me Fraction, and I'll be glad to continue buying this comic.

Peace.

Didn't he say a couple of months ago that he might leave the book because there was a Siege of Asgard crossover event coming up?

Also, what's the deal with these September books Marvel hasn't solicited yet? It seems like they announced a few others over the weekend.

Yeah, with all of the movie projects that he keeps stumbling into, I am surprised JMS waited this long to bow out.

So thirteen issues is now considered an "epic"? My, how our standards continue to decline.

Maybe now the book will revert back to $2.99 now that they'll no longer have to pay JMS's salary.

Yeah....right!

Hopefully they can find a writer that can keep this story going in the right direction. But yes i think a new one will definitely get this title back on time every month.
