So far it avoids a 3 Ninjas feel to it.

  2. Vin Says:

Some one with the appropriate skills needs to edit Star Wars Kid into that scene. Make it so.

I’m a big fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender. That said, this had a neat look to it. I’m interested in seeing more.

Aang is going to be played by a really talented kid named Noah Ringer–he’s phenomenal. We used his motions for an animated short called “Ninja Toy” while he was auditioning for the part. You can check out the video and see more of what he’s about at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2I1Wbr-i7g

Will this have Appa in it? I can’t accept it without Appa!

That being said, this looks like the material is being treated with the proper respect it deserves.

Never seen the show or read anything about this, aside from the uproar over the casting. For a first teaser, it didn’t make me cringe, which is a good sign.

Oh, and as for the dancing baby? That clip was floating around the internet for at least a year before it was used on the show. :)

Hmm… I dunno. I thought some of those “dance moves” were a bit much. Aang was never quite so wiggly on the show. Hiding he head under the cloak like that was kinda dumb. Still, they got the effect of the airbending down pat. And I really, really liked the look of the Fire Nation ships. That worked.

The kid? I’m indifferent at this point. The casting, in general, is still incredibly thoughtless though. And, it’s Shaymalan. I’m sorry, but I just don’t trust him. I just keep thinking he’s going to fuck it all up somewhere. I hate the way his name is above the title, as if he created all of this or something.

Finally, I’m really disappointed that they’re not calling this AVATAR. Sorry James Cameron, but they had that title before you did.

  8. Rob Webb Says:

Actually he had the name over a decade ago.
