Brian Austin Green is Metallo

June 17th, 2009
Author Lucas Siegel

TV Guide.com is reporting that Brian Austin Green, last seen on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, has joined the cast of Smallville for at least two episodes of Season 9. He’ll be playing John Corben and his villianous cyborg with a heart of Kryptonite alter ego, Metallo.

Fans of Green or his Green-hearted character don’t have to wait too long to see him; he’ll be showing up in the first two episodes of the Season, starting September 25 (that’s a Friday, don’t forget). So, does he fit the role of Metallo to you, dear readers? Does this make you any more (or less) excited for the new Season?

A cast member from 90210 reinventing himself as a genre star. For some reason, I kinda like this guy. Must be he left some subconscious traces of his fictional personality on my 5-year-old self or something.

  2. Scotty Says:

I wouldn’t want to see him as a recurring character, but for two episodes, as an important villain, and then be done with him … I’m okay with that. We can’t argue about his acting. Have you seen Lana on that show? She just got worse and worse.

  3. CHARLES DAVID HASKELL Says:

BRIAN AUSTEN GREEN IS ONE OF THE FEW FORMER CHILD ACTOR THAT THE FAN WILL REMEMBER HIS BODY OF WORK. HE TRY DIFFER CHARACTER OVER THE WORK.HE WILL HAVE A LONG CAREER. YOUR TRULY CHARLES DAVID HASKELL

  4. Trooper Says:

I have heard Interviews with B.A.G. and he is a really cool guy. He’s a Geek, has a star wars room. Likes Scifi, likes comics. I am happy to hear that he could play this role. If Metallo is messed up, it will be on the writers and not Him as the Actor.

  5. juss Says:

Metallo was always one of my favorite Superman villains, maybe because his premise is so simple and straightforward. I look forward to seeing these episodes.

Now BAG is the “metal” he hated so much as Derek Reese.

  7. Christopher Says:

I like that the site chose a picture from over 10 years ago.

  8. comicbookreader Says:

His work in 90210, Terminator and Smallville aside, he’ll really best be known to all men of the world for formerly banging the bejesus out of Megan Fox. All hail Brian Austin Green!

  9. Squashua Says:

    He was great in Terminator.

  10. TheJew27 Says:

The 2nd person from 90210 to be on Smallville. Damn I’m glad I stopped watching last season.

  11. Daryll B Says:

I give Green credit….he tries out of the box and is always willing to stretch himself in roles…I wish him well with it

  12. Radomski Says:

So you go from fighting Cyborgs to playing one. Nice.

  13. Murray Says:

Man, you were 5 when 90210 was on? I was 16 or 17…LOL. I actually always thought Green was decent too. Although, 90210 could’ve used Dan Didio to run multiple Crisis’ to tell us how David Silver was a Freshman when Steve, Brandon and the crew were Juniors yet he still graduated at the same time…!

  14. EvolutionAngel Says:

Lol you put such a young looking pic. Shoulda got a grizzly looking one from T:SCC :X

  15. Nate Says:

Back in the day when he released his rap album I thought he was a tool. Having seen a little bit of him on Terminator changed my mind about him. Though I don’t really care about Smallville anymore. I wish him the best, seems like a cool guy now.

  16. justin Says:

I’m sure he’ll do the part that’s written for him well, but Smallville doesn’t do anything right anymore. Remember when they introduced Cyborg, who had NO visable signs that he was a cyborg? I hate to be cinical, but I know that Smallville will F up the Metallo character.
