don’t think things will get “cute” or watered down with Disney either. I mean, Miramax is a division of Disney… Look at some of the films they’ve made! Not kiddie fare. They also own ESPN and ABC. Sports (with all those beer and Viagra ads), and shows like Lost, Desperate Housewives, and Grey’s Anatomy. Again, not for the kids.

WOW! That comic strip looks better than any of the other Superman stuff being published right now! LoL! GOOD LUCK to the non comic book fans who may venture out to buy a current DC superhero book…Hint: They wont be able to understand any of the plot lines lol. Looks like Marvel will win here too lol!

This is the first time the news has carried a legitimately awesone story.

“Spider-man Unmasked!”…for 6 months until we undo it, “Captain America Dead!”…for two years until…”Captain America Alive!”, allof these are pretty pointless headlines.

Way to go DC on actually knocking one out of the park.

Great news but it points out how messed up the Superman books are – if someone goes to a store and asks for Superman or Action, they’ll get the confusing (to them) tales of er, the Guardian? Mon-El? Nightwing and Flamebird? who the heck are these people? etc etc.

Not to mention they’ll get those freakin’ ugly covers by Fernando Dagnino, and the dull but competent artwork of many recent neo-Super pencillers – e.g., Julian Lopezzzzzzzzzzz (the extra z’s are for boring), Sidney Teles (poor imitation of the lively, idiosyncratic stylings of Norm Breyfogle), Pere Perez (just kinda ugly), … Although some Renato Guedes, Pete Woods or Gary Frank might keep them coming back.

Detourne_me, I would figure the artist is Lee Bermejo, as it said in the second sentence in the article.

And this is pretty cool. I mean, Superman had huge success in the Sunday strips back in the late 30s and early 40s, so why not? If this is something that is continual for a long period, I see nothing but good things in the future.

maybe they will include an ad with each chapter reminding people that the entire book is available at a comic shop.
