Dragonball Movie Sequel in the Works. No, Seriously.

The website Topless Robot (*hee hee hee*) along with Dragonball The Movie are both reporting that James Marsters has confirmed that he will begin filming a sequel to Dragonball Evolution as early as late this year.

Wait a second… James Marsters was in the Dragonball movie? James Marsters, the guy whose presence saved the last couple of seasons of Buffy from completely jumping the shark after the Scooby Gang left for college? The same James Marsters that kicked ass as Braniac on Smallville? This James Marsters?

Come on, dude. You’ve built up enough geek credibility between Buffy, Angel, and Torchwood to get roles in better movies than that. How about lobbying for the role of Hawkeye in the upcoming Avengers movie? Or maybe you can get your old pal Joss Whedon to talk Time-Warner into making a Starman movie? You’d be great as Jack Knight.

And another thing: A Dragonball sequel? Sure, why not? Don’t let the fact that Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 13% fresh rating, or the fact that it only made $54.7 million worldwide, despite having a budget of allegedly $100 million, stop you from making what will likely be a horrible film that even the makers of Ishtar will laugh at.

No way that movie used that hundred million dollar budget. I bet most of it was embezzled.

the budget was actually 45 million

No no no! This was an OLD INTERVIEW, given before the film even premiered domestically. Stop spreading this rumor already, based on an OLD INTERVIEW!

people liked buffy, i get it, i get it

but i mean at this point, this many years later, are people still letting their nostalgia tell them that the show’s success had anything to do with the actors? who cares about this guy? you’d really want him as hawkeye when marvel can afford someone who is an actual, y’know, movie star?

With the first Avengers movie showcasing the original team it will take an unknown amount of years before Hawkeye hits the silverscreen.

Just going by what the other sites are saying, m’man. Hopefully you’re right. I’m having a hard enough time coming to terms with Creed getting back together and going on tour; I don’t think I can handle any more conclusive proof that God hates us.

Well… yeah. Casting does have quite a bit to do with a show’s success.

What did Hugh Jackman do before X-Men?

I saw the movie and enjoyed it. I’d go see a sequel.

I think the movie could have been better, but I think they were more focused on introducing everybody, cuz not everyone knows or watched the cartoon. Yall do remember dragonball started as goku as a little kid not actually knowing his full strength. But the next one will have vegeta (I hope) and if u ask me a great villain makes a great movie. Just like the venoms, and all the marvel villains that make those movies. Moral of the story is…dragonball the cartoon when he was a kid was not that exciting, but dragonball z, gt and the movies were great to me. Can’t wait til majin buu, freeza, cell, ginyu force, and the fusions.

it’s funny how everybody assumes we didn’t like the movie because it was DB and we expected DBZ and have no idea what DB was.

I saw a great deal of DB including the intro to Yamcha which the movie does almost exactly the same as the Anime.

I would have prefered a DBZ movie. But I understand this wasn’t. Yet it was still a horrible movie.

Goku is a demon Ozaru and he chances during an eclipse rather then every full moon? Well so much for any other Giant apes or slightly large werewolf like creatures I guess they are.

And if Goku is only that way because of the demon and it only comes out once every 2,000 years how does he have a “Race/species” are they other Used to be Demons who have taken human form for some odd reason when their masters are trapped?

And since when did Picollo have the power of the Great Ape at his disposal?

So many plot holes in it as a DB script forget DBZ that it’s hard to sit through.
