I, too, sell on Amazon and had Wizard regularly puchased items from me they they were listing in stock for far more than I was selling them for (one time I sold an item for $12.99 that they had listed for $80). Several of the items were near Christmas time and I can't imagine they were able to get the item to their buyers in time for the holidays since I had to ship it to them first. As a seller on a much smaller scale, I always wondered how they were able to remain selling on Amazon with such horrible customer service.

I ordered 2 Batman Knightfall figures for a total of $38.00 including shipping. The items arrived within a week but my credit card had been charged twice, so I paid $76.00. I went online to the Wizard Universe store to check the items and they had raised the prices from $15.00 each to $30.00 and $50.00 for each one. I immedeatly sent an email requesting a refund and was replied to by "Peter Katz" who told me, "No probelm at all. We will take care of this for you. Regards. Petar Katz, Wizard Entertainment"

Guess what? I haven't seen anything yet and Peter/Wizard Customer Service has not replied to any further emails about this. I have filed complaints with the BBB and the FTC and both have been ingored by Wizard so far. I've filled out a complaint with the New York State Attorney General's Office but haven't mailed it yet.

Ordered a AP statue from them on may 24th. received a cheap south park plastic figure on june 5th. wizard entertainment from what I can see is guilty of at least continual deceptive advertising and maybe even mail fraud. how any business, artist or person in the collectibles industry would want to associate with this company is a shock. I will file a bbb complaint after I get cc refund

April Wiggins is a liar and Wizard is actively and knowingly engaged in fraud.

After hearing in March about a really good sale that they were offering I ordered 52 separate items (sometimes in multiple quantities) on Wednesday April 1st. My order had a Subtotal of $258.48 with Shipping of $17.99 for a Total $276.47. I payed through Paypal (something I later came to regret) and they promptly e-mailed me to confirm the order.

I heard nothing more until 2 weeks later when Paypal notified me of a $21.94 refund from Wizard. To this day I have no idea what that refund was for.

Over two weeks later I received a package from them in a HUGE box. There was no packing slip or invoice included. Beyond a couple of pieces of newspaper, there was no packing material. All of the items had been dumped in the box and thus many of them came damaged. I had one TPB arrive where there is a noticeable hole in the cover because the corner of another Trade had been forcibly pushed through during transit. I had a variant cover book for which I paid $9.99 sent with no bag, no backboard and arrived looking as if it had spent significant time being kicked by someone. Imo a $9.99 variant cover from the last 2 years should not arrive in the condition where it would be graded "poor" or in the 3.0 range from CCG.

When all was said and done, the package was missing 8 items totaling $52.92 + the shipping cost of those 8 items which i do not know the amount of. I am glad that they had issued me the $21.94 refund, but they still owe me over $30.00 more.

I tried to be forgiving with the damaged items as not everything will be in great shape when it's on sale. So giving them the benefit of the doubt, the total from this group came to $43.98 + whatever the cost of Shipping is, which I am unable to calculate with certainty.

I sent two e-mails to wizarduniverse and never heard back. I then opened a dispute with Paypal and sent more e-mails through them. I never heard back. I went to Paypal to escalate my dispute and was told because Wizard had sent me SOMEthing then Wizard had fulfilled their responsibilities.

Wizard is actively and knowingly engaging in illegal business practices. I was not previously aware of those Forums, but thank you for providing the link. Hopefully someone will soon organize a class-action suit so that we can sue the heck out of these %$#@'s.

I sell on Amazon and these guys don't hold stock of anything they list. They over inflate prices (sometimes over 1000% markup) and when they get an order, they buy at normal price from vendors like me. They have the item sent to them and then they send it out to the customer. That's why it takes weeks to get any sort of response from them because they themselves don't know when an order from the vendor they purchased from will come in. If they feel an order is taking too long, I assume weeks, they will send out a small figure hoping this will buy them some more time so they can look elsewhere. They figure the loss of money they incurred from the cost of the figure and shipping will be made up by the hyperinflated prices they are charging the customers. This is fraud plain and simple and they should be shut down immediately.

Interesting. I was working a recent convention as a dealer when a gal hit up our table with a packet from Wizard/Chicago Comic-Con. She said very urgently, "I represent another convention and we REALLY NEED more dealers!"

Now I know why.

I think the DC & Marvel will not have booths at the Chicago Con is a little misleading. Dan DiDio will be at WW Philly and DC will have a presence there, but they are not listed as "exhibitors" on the WW Philly page. Yes, companies like Avatar are listed, but Avatar does actually do sales through their booth, and Image, Marvel, DC et al don't, so that may be the distinction. Many of the folks on that list look like vendors with booths, not publishers who are just displaying and promoting.

I've bought and sold on Amazon for years, and even the "better," 90-day rating of 20-odd percent negative is way too high for someone who does the kind of volume that I would imagine Wizard does. If you're a major, commercial vendor and you're not at or around 90% positive feedback, something's gumming up your works.

Rich? Rich Johnston, is that you?

Nice bit of detective work there, Lucas.

When I buy my collector's toys, I got through private individuals on eBay, so I just assume that there is the possibility for a scratch here or there.

But knowing Wizard's general reputation, I wonder why would anyone buy toys from them at all, regardless of their rating on Amazon.
