I don't get where so many people get the idea that the average age for a superhero is early 20s. Downey never struck me as being in any way too old for Stark; when I was a kid the character seemed to me at least as old as my dad, and so did a lot of Superheroes who weren't specifically meant to be youthful (like Spidey) and it certainly never put me off enjoying the comics.
I never once imagined that Hal Jordan was any younger than mid-thirties at least, so I have no problem with the idea of Fillion.
If your argument is just that studios are full of nimrods who only want to cast young because they think youth audiences are so stupid that they can't relate to anyone with more than a five year age difference, well then you've got a point. If however, you actually read books like Iron Man or Green Lantern and these characters seem barely out of their teens to you, then I'm not sure what your problem is, but you do have one.

I still like Fillion in the role, or Boreanz just as easily. And I don't buy the "too old" talk. I guess they shouldn't have cast Robert Downey as Tony Stark then either. Basically, eveyone who's been rumored for the part thus far is either too young or at least *looks* too young and babyfaced for the part.

I'm not really sure how old Hal is supposed to be when hen gets his ring, and I'm sure that's been retconned more than once, but I've always felt like he should be a guy who's been around the block a few times, and taken his share of knocks along the way. For that reason alone, I'd rather not have a babyfaced Hal who's fodder for Tiger Beat or 16 magazine.

I also think having someone who's a bit of a name, with some geek cachet (as both Fillion and Boreanz do) couldn't hurt at the box office.

Yes, it's recycling other works, but there's enough to it that's original to make me say "WOW". Inspired bit of casting, is he too old? No, he's younger than RDJ was when he donned the Iron Man suit. Plus, Hal always struck me as the older tupe.

I always thought the firefly theme fit Hal so well..."Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand. I don't care, I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me. Take me out to the black, tell them I ain't coming back, burn the land and boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me. There's no place I can be, since I found serenity, you can't take the sky from me."

I`ve been crossing my fingers for Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan since I saw Firefly. There can be no other and I`m glad to see others think so.
As for creativity...it takes a lot of creativity to put pieces of other things and create a single one from that...So this video is like an A+ for creativity

That's a very impressive piece of work! Definitely one of the better examples of the type. It's a real shame whoever put it together didn't have better computer animation software for Kilowog, Abin Sur and Tomar-Re.

"Blah. Too much recycled from other people’s hard work. You shouldn’t have to steal to make something creative. Pretty damn cheesy."

So you wanted him to make a GL trailer featuring Nathan Fillion completely from scratch? Yeah, that's realistic.

Pull that stick out of your ass.
