Here is a quick run-down on the latest about the new Pop Gun War. Emily is somewhere on tour with her rock band and is staying at some seedy Motel in the middle of nowhere. She slams the door on a nosy mailman and that seems to set off a chain of events. Like Alice in Wonderland, she gets propelled down a portal to another world full of dark mysterious figures.

I was lucky enough to pick up a limited edition book of the first 23 pages of Pop Gun War: Chain Letter. It is published by Floating World Comics in Portland which printed only 100 copies. I got it at the Stumptown Comics Festival for ten dollars from Farel Dalyrmple himself.

You can see some of Chain Letter over at the Arthur mag site.

This from the intro page to the print version:

Pop Gun: Chain Letter will ultimately be a 160-page book, told in four separate parts, with Emily starting the adventure. Next will be Sinclair’s story told in full color. The segment after that will be a Ben Able detective story done in black and white with grey washes. The fourth segment will be set in the future and will be black and white with one spot color.

And with a nod to Caleb and Sarah for their posts on this event, Farel is one of the cartoonists participating in the Floating World Comics Full of Pryde art show this month with each sale of art to benefit the Oregon Hemophilia Treatment Center. Remember, you can purchase art from the show at eBay.

So, you want more? Well, proceed to my interview with Farel Dalrymple, dear friends.
