The Mothership reported today about the latest news regarding the official summer release date of Green Lantern: First Flight on blu-ray and DVD.
Yahoo! Movies now has the first trailer for the animated film, I think it bodes well for the 2010 live-action film.
Our home base at Newsarama has since added the First Flight trailer.

Looks great! Hopefully this is the first DCU animated film where they really, truly get it right. I still have to see Wonder Woman at some point (Netflix queue), but none of the others have really knocked me out. In fact, they’ve been really disappointing.
I also agree that it bodes well for the GL live action film… But only if they cast it well. GL/Hal looks an adult here. Let’s hope they case someone who actually does look like an adult.
I know neither one will happen, because it’s rare that these films get cast with people who are actually right for the parts (Christian Bale and Robert Downey being two rare examples), but I still say that it should be either Nathan Fillion or David Boreanz.

The animation on these DC straight-to-DVD movies has been pretty abysmal, looking like mid-run episodes of afternoon TV cartoons. This one looks a little better. I dearly wish these movies would stop taking the audience for granted.
