As I’m sure you read earlier last week, Runaways is getting a new creative team, with Kathryn Immonen writing and Sara Pichelli on art duties. But cover artist David Lafuente has just posted on his blog new images of the series covers — two of which aren’t even in Marvel’s solicit catalog yet:

Definitely the best artwork on the book since Alphona left a couple of years back, covers or otherwise. Lafuente’s version of Nico in particular is perfect.

Here’s my question. I got hooked on Vaughan’s run after getting it for my daughter to read based on trusted recommendations (and I’m a nut for Vaughan for anyhow… Lost, Y, Ex Machina are as good as it gets). I’ve heard nothing but bad things about Terry Moore’s run, so I’ve steered clear of that. Does anyone know if jumping back on with the new team will make any sense, or am I going to be completely lost without reading Moore’s stuff?
I figure Gert’s still dead (at least I haven’t heard otherwise), but is there

Shaun, I would’ve thought you could jump back onto Runaways fairly easily once we lose Moore, the events of recent arcs are usually given to us in the recap pages at the front of each book, and if you’ve missed anything genuinely significant from Moore’s run, I think it’ll most likely be referenced in the series.

Shuan, the only thing you really need to know is Xavin has been taken into space disguised as Karolina so that the real Karolina wouldn’t be taken instead.

@ Statham: Cool… Thanks! I have the Vaughan run in those little digest books because that’s how my LCS had them, and my daughter likes those. Not sure if I’ll try the new team in traditional floppies, or if I’ll wait for trades/digests. What issue does the new team start with? I guess I can wait for the solicits to show up here, but I was just wondering.
