All of this new Wolverine junk is once again Joe Quesada performing job-maintenance for his career.

There is a Wolverine movie coming out next month, ergo, there are loads of new Wolverine projects being announced.

The same was true for Iron Man, Hulk, and Punisher last year.

Joe just doesn’t want to get fired the way Bob Harras did when the first X-Men movie came out and there was not enough new X-junk in the shops to capitalize on it.

With each new movie, you will see new titles, specials, and miniseries pop up around the same time. There is no creativity behind these decisions. It’s just as simple and as pragmatic as that.

I love the idea of the return of the black and white magazines, but for $5, we should get at least 64 pages of mostly new content and maybe 10 pages of ads.

Anyone else notice that Rampaging Wolverine has a price of $3.99 in the upper left hand corner, but $4.99 in the UPC area?

It’s a cool idea. Wish it were more pages (especially if it’s $5).

Funny, sounds a lot like Logan before Joe Q became EIC. Just goes to show that the current Marvel regime has no idea what made the character so different in the first place.

The appeal was no memory of his past leading to a sense of obligation to do good out of a tortured conscience over atrocities he might have committed. Now he’s just some 200 year old guy named James with a son, a clone, and a kicked smoking habit. Oh yeah and he has claws.

At least to me, Wolverine is Hawkman-level broken, which is a shame.
