Mattel today sent out images and a little bit of information about Wave 9 of their DCUClassics line, and this one is a doozy. Black Canary and Green Arrow are present, along with villains Deadshot and Black Adam. Mantis is here, with a Robot variant. The coolest looking Wildcat figure I’ve ever seen will also have a variant, though what that’ll be was not ready for announcement yet. Classic Guardian rounds out the line, and each figure will come with a piece of a translucent Chemo build-a-figure. Click Read More for images of the rest of the line, and start saving your money up.

Those look sweet!

A delicious assortment. Truthfully, though I would view it as such (this is ME, personally:
Deadshot, Green Arrow & Black Canary = happy with my current version
Wildcat = This is what I’m looking for, but I’m waiting for DC Direct to take a stab at it. Plus I’ve always liked their first draft.
Mantis, Parademon = nice additions to my New Gods shelf!
Guardian = GOLDEN. Two words: Must. Have.
Another word: Beautiful.
Great Chemo BAF!

They had me at Deadshot.
March 12th, 2009 at 12:50 am
not Parademon.

I so want Guardian and Chemo….
March 12th, 2009 at 6:18 am
They look great!!
where can I find out what figures are in the other 8 waves?
March 12th, 2009 at 6:51 am
Chemo looks sweet.

These look really cool! Does anyone know when is Hasbro suppose to release their marvel 3 3/4″ action figures?

@ James:
you can find pics and info on the other figures, here http://www.dcuniverseclassics.com/

Really? ANOTHER GREEN ARROW figure? Plus.. the Guardian figure is so boring. I’d rather see a Seven Soldier Guardian Figure made
March 12th, 2009 at 10:22 am
Have they ever made a Jonah Hex figure?
And if so, which wave/series is it in?
March 12th, 2009 at 10:48 am
Spike, this is the ONLY Green Arrow figure for DCUC.
March 12th, 2009 at 10:53 am
Is Green Arrow the George Clooney of superheroes? The two are very similar in that they kind of get pushed down our thoarts. Both are over-exposed. Seriously, the amount of Green Arrow figures that have been released, you’d think his book sells at the same pace as Action and Batman.

Goof, the Marvel 3.75″ figures are out already. I nabbed most of the first wave at Toys R Us, and my friend saw some of Wave 2 (Cap, Hulk, etc.) the other day.

Has this news just been released? Action figure sites have had info on the line for months now. They’re still pretty. I’m looking forward to picking up The Guardian.
You can find information on the rest of the line from just about any action figure site. Just type “DC Universe Classics” into Google, and you’ll get dozens of different pages.
And just because I was thinking about this last night… anybody know what character has been represented the most times in the DCUC line? I want to say it’s Aquaman, but I’m not sure.
March 12th, 2009 at 11:37 am
Oh, and the Marvel 3 3/4 line has been released. I’ve seen several figures at my local Wal-Mart.
March 12th, 2009 at 11:45 am
How about a Chemo lava lamp? I’d buy that in a heartbeat.
March 12th, 2009 at 1:42 pm
The Guardian looks great. Thank you, four horsemen for all these wonderful figures.
March 12th, 2009 at 1:53 pm
Suggestion: Kirby’s SANDMAN,SANDY, OMAC, and MANHUNTER!!
March 12th, 2009 at 2:25 pm
Defintely picking up the Green Arrow (Love the detail) and Black Canary figures. The detail is incredible! Plus likely Deadshot and Wildcat to.
Don’t understand the guy complaining about the GA figures. DC Direct’s done a few but most have been part of a series (Identity Crisis, New Frontier etc) and pretty much always the GA or SA version.
I’ve been waiting for Mattel’s version which looks to have great articulation (most of the GA figs can’t even be posed to be drawing an arrow)
He IS also an extremely popular character (Who’s title DID outsell both Action and Batman a few years ago) and one of the few that’s been in publication as long as the big three!
What I was HOPING for was a hooded variant of this one. All they would have to do is change the front and add the hood!

Gotta love the Boxing Arrow that comes with Green Arrow !!
March 12th, 2009 at 3:37 pm
I think this is the GREATEST line of Action figures…EVER!!
Great articulation, sculpting, paint, and selection of characters.
Thanks, Mattel. Thanks, Four Horsemen and every involved.
For those who don’t have any DCUC figures yet,… HOP ON!! they are wonderful.
March 12th, 2009 at 6:09 pm
I like to see Huntress and Lady Blackhawk added to the mix soon.
March 12th, 2009 at 8:48 pm
Deadshot and Black Adam look tremendous
March 13th, 2009 at 9:31 am
Thanks Kris!
There were some great figures from the other series as well.
March 14th, 2009 at 6:26 am
Good sculpts and pics…
But as usual, the retail versions will have a sucky paint job compared to the pictured items.
March 14th, 2009 at 12:03 pm
That Deadshot picture makes we wish I still collected toys.
