  1. Ken Says:

I’m already saying that this will be my favorite film this year. The trailers I’ve seen make this look better than all the X-Men films.

  2. rwe1138 Says:

Am I the only one that feels like this is either going to be 100 kinds of awesome or 100 kinds of suck, but not fall anywhere in-between?

  3. GOOF Says:

I want to see a Wolverine vs Hulk live action film(well hulk would be cg).

  4. NeoSamurai Says:

imo, if the war scenes are more than just action scene montages, this film will be great.

  5. Inertia Says:

I really want this movie to be awesome, buit I feel that it will suffer from the same thing that Spider-Man 3 did, too damn many subplots.

  6. andrew Says:

yeah this will def. not top the first two x-films. are you kidding. this has potential but really has some serioius flaws. too many mutants for the sake of it ala spidey 3 and x3 as mentioned by inertia. they should’ve just had deadpool, gambit, and sabretooth and that’s it. also don’t get me started on the helicopter scene and the posing in the movie - jla smallvile episode anyone? but oh well. i’m still holding out hope cuz of what’s said in the trailer and the victor/logan stuff. the revenge part is so wolverine.

  7. Jack Says:

    Cyclops is in this movie?

  8. Kel-El Says:

Why is Cyclops in this movie?
This is screaming X-3 in regards to how many people they can shove into this. At some point it won’t be about Wolverine anymore. It’s almost as if they’re trying to see how many spin-offs they can make off of this movie.

    Typical Fox nonsense.

  9. SgtKosher Says:

Looks like someone at Fox decided to run with the idea that Sabretooth might be Logan’s brother based on Wolverine:Origin, even though Marvel denounced the idea that Dog was Sabretooth. Looks like a good movie but I hate it when the studio skims through TPB’s and decides they can inject crap into the back story that the creator didn’t. Its like a car manufacturer deciding paramedics could benefit from a Foreman Grill in their Ambulances because people love grilled meat.

  10. Onestar Says:

    Um…

So is this a reboot? Are we supposed to forget that Sabretooth was in the first X-Men movie?

I know, I know. I should just enjoy the movie and STFU, but I’m a geek and I love an evil little word called “continuity”…

  11. Colby Says:

OK, seriously, did ANYONE hear anything about cyclops being in this before now? I’m not sating its a problem, I’ll just be impressed that they managed to keep it under wraps this long.

  12. Andrew Says:

@ Onestar: It’s supposed to be a prequel, and I’d guess that this movie will end with both Wolverine and Sabretooth being mindwiped so that they forget about eachother entirely, thus not knowing eachother by the time of the first X-Men movie many years later.

@ Colby: Yes, it was stated a while back that Cyclops would appear as a child, and be a Weapon X captive along with some other young mutants (Storm is supposed to appear as a child as well). I don’t know why they’re doing this, besides fan-pleasing I guess.

  13. Ryan K Says:

F’in SWEET. I am down for this movie!

  14. BlackConvoy Says:

I don’t understand why Cyclops and Storm would be in the movie. If that’s they case they should have known Wolverine in the first X-Men movie. Only thing that would make sense is that for whatever reasons, everyone had their minds wiped. We know that Professor X isn’t above it because he repressed the Phoenix and wiped Jean’s mind. And in the comics he erased Scott’s memories of Vulcan. Either way, it’s dumb way to cram more mutants in the movie.

  15. Mark Says:

Onestar! You are now now banned from Marveldom for mentioning the dreaded word, “Continuity.” WE DON’T HAVE IT IN OUR COMICS AND WE WON’T HAVE IT IN OUR FILMS!

  16. Matthew Raleighaikenbaconburgerfarley Says:

My god, that first one is freaking awful. AHAHAHA!

  17. Matthew Raleighaikenbaconburgerfarley Says:

The other two are just as bad. I know he’s live decades but for some reason Hugh Jackman just comes off as fake here plus lots of “KEWL SLOWMO MATRIX OMGWTF KUNGFU NEO” is here. This movie will be like the Hulk last year. Good one week and then drop like a stone.

  18. Joseph Says:

I think this looks great. And we have no idea if Cyclops or Storm will even interact with Wolverine in the film, so maybe we should hold off on the “OH MY GOD THIS IS INCONSISTENT WITH THE PRIOR FILMS!!!” panic attacks for now. I do hope this film treats Cyclops with some respect and not like the little bitch the three x-men films did.

And how lucky is that kid playing a young Logan, to be that age as an actor and be able to play the ultimate bad-ass superhero?

  19. silvanthalas Says:

“Am I the only one that feels like this is either going to be 100 kinds of awesome or 100 kinds of suck, but not fall anywhere in-between?”

No, you are not alone. It’s the exact same trepidation I’m feeling toward this film.

  20. Gokitalo Says:

*strokes chin* looks like the Toad will be showing up as well!

Personally, I don’t mind the cameos. If they add to the story, fantastic.

  21. KGB Says:

So Hugh Jackman is now 9 years older than he was in X1 right? How they’re making a prequel to a movie that came out 10 years ago and setting it as much as 100 years in the past is beyond me. This might be alright if they weren’t using Jackman, but if you go back and watch X1 you’ll be surprised how young he looks sometimes.

  22. JS Says:

@Mark: this is a movie not a comic book. so “Continuity” does exsist Dumbass!! (Just backing you up Onestar)

  23. Yema Says:

Are you kidding, this movie is going to make boatloads of money. Hugh Jackman is like the number one actor in the world right now. Give me a break.

  24. Evan Says:

All I thought as I kept watching the trailers was:

I wonder what kind of Brinks truck backed up in Paul Jenkins’s backyard?

Quesada did say “We’ve got to do the origin before Hollywood does.”

    It paid off big time.

  25. KGB Says:

    @ Yema

#1 actor in the world (i hope you’re referring to box office) Yeah, ‘Australia’ broke box office numbers everywhere it went, along with every romantic comedy he’s made. Gimme a break, name one movie that he’s starred in (other than the Xmen movies) that broke 150 million. This is going to suck big time. I didn’t think we’d hit so low so soon after DK. Thank god for Whiteout!

  26. Kaz Says:

After viewing these 3 clips, It’s sad I do not want to see this for Wolverine.

Bring on Deadpool and give Ryan Reynolds his own spin-off. I’m not even a ‘Pool fan but he was the best thing in all three clips.

I can’t fault Hugh (since he’s NOT in the Origin crap flashbacks), but this movie looks like it’s not sure what it wants to be Wolverine’s history or Wolverine: agent of Weapon X.

Considering some of the footage is repeated throughout the 3 clips doesn’t help much either.

Hopefully I’ll be proven wrong, but my enthusiasm for this has seriously waned as a result of these clips.

  27. Venom Melendez Says:

”So Hugh Jackman is now 9 years older than he was in X1 right? How they’re making a prequel to a movie that came out 10 years ago and setting it as much as 100 years in the past is beyond me. This might be alright if they weren’t using Jackman, but if you go back and watch X1 you’ll be surprised how young he looks sometimes.

Little something called make up kid. Easy.

But wow you fanboys will bitch about anything huh?

  28. BookWyrm Says:

Welcome to the internet, Venom Melendez. If we “fanboys” didn’t have the ‘net to gripe about something, we would have invented something damn close enough just for that purpose alone.

  29. KGB Says:

@ Venom: First off, don’t post someone else’s comment & then call them a fanboy & a kid, because you’re obviously in neither one of those categories ‘Venom’. Lemme guess, you never complain about anything? Second, Jackman looks ten years older in this movie than he did in X1, without a doubt they did not use make-up to de-age him. But wow some people just can’t think for themselves huh?

  30. LanternLight Says:

SgtKosher - Marvel actually was NOT happy Fox went with the Origins storyline and Kevin Feige and Marvel Entertainment have taken their name off the film. Watch for their absence during the credits (though I think legally they have to use the logo with the comic pages flipping behind it). Otherwise there will be a distinct lack of Marvel support for this.

  31. LanternLight Says:

As far as spinoffs go Deadpool, Gambit, and Magneto are all on the table as to which goes first, and Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Kitsch have 3 picture contracts for the characters.

  32. Joseph Says:

@KGB. Good point about Jackman looking older than he did 10 years ago. Hopefully I will be able to use my “suspension of disbelief” powers as I watch this fictional story of a mutant superhero.

Honestly, I will never understand how someone can suspend disbelief enough to buy into these characters with impossible powers doing impossible things, but then complain about how he can’t understand how they expect him to believe this is the same character from a similar film nine years ago. We’re not talking about Jackman at 20 and then Jackman at 50 pretending he hasn’t aged. It’s only been nine years! Sure he looks a little older, but unless you’re watching the two films side by side is it really going to bother you that much? Geez just buy into it and have fun with the film. Life’s too short - there have to be better things to devote your energy towards.

And yes, I realize that life is also too short to respond to negative, bitter fans prejudging films three months before they are released.

  33. silvanthalas Says:

“Otherwise there will be a distinct lack of Marvel support for this.”

So that explains the “Wolverine Appreciation Month” that we saw for the April solicits from Marvel…

    Or not.

  34. eggie Says:

Or it could have to do with the 35th anniversary of Wolvie’s first appearance.
