I’ll have a full report of my first impressions with the latest build and developer walkthrough of DCU Online in the main Games section tomorrow, but to tide you over, for the first time anywhere, here’s Lex Luthor as designed by Jim Lee for the game. Enjoy.

By squinting at the picture it seems to be pretty cool. Seriously though, it would be nice when you click to enlarge…..THE PIC GETS BIGGER!

I’m with Justin, I click on it to see how cool it will look, only to see a micro machine on the screen.

The more I see the more I’m scared that this is going to be an expensive city of heroes mod. I hope DCU online lives up to the hype.

..
Hmm…but it looks like Iron Man armor, not Lex’s power suit. Shouldn’t it be a little less bulky?

Whoa. I think Lex needs to go on a diet. Kinda looks like one of those fat ass sumo suits. Not exactly “cool”.

It looks cool, but I wish they would start with him as shady businessman Lex and then have him become garishly colored mad scientist Lex after an expansion or two.

Well by looking at this tiny picture I am convinced that this game is going to be an absolute DISASTER!!! Who needs a dev walkthrough? Actual screenshots? Public beta testing? It’s Battlecruiser 3000 all over again! *pulls hair out and weeps into Underoos*

I don’t know why was Lee allowed to redesign tLex battle armor from the modifications made by Ed Benes, this stuff is incredibly bulky like the Mcguiness design.

Excluding this Lex armor design, I think SOE has done great job interpreting Jim Lee’s designs. I would love to see DC use these CGI models for their animation department. Instead of the old school cell animation that looks horribly inconsistent from episode to episode.
If they can use the CGI designs for their cartoons it would pay off in spades regardless of what happens with the MMO.

First of all, Lee has either gone senile or mad with power, because his art and designs are terrible. Any game, whose development team hires someone like Lee in the hopes to boost the games worthiness is doomed to failure. Such a waste of money.
