Yeah, simply that it wasn't on Hulu when I made the post! Unfortunately, since GI Joe aired before kickoff, it wasn't part of the deal that Hulu struck for re-airing all the ads. Sorry!

Great trailers, although I thought it was funny that the beats in the TF trailer were identical to the ones in the first new Terminator trailers.

The Transformers could not matter less to me, so I neither care whether it looks great or a travesty (though I consider the very idea of caring enough about the Transformers to call a bad movie of them a "travesty" somewhat brain-damaged).
I'm more concerned about the Land of the Lost movie. I'm not about to reject the whole idea of a comedy version out of hand, just as long as all the pocket-universe-pylons-and-skylons-Enik stuff is still there, even if it's there for Farrel to act all confused by.

@Shaun

I'm there with you about Super Bowl ads being too crass.

It amazes me that NBC didn't let THIS ad air:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2CaBR3z85c

Wasn't that more inspirational and clever than the mostly overpriced, underwhelming ads of last night?

I'm going with Transformers 2 trailer all the way. The scene of that skyscraper sized Transformer battling a much smaller bot (Optimus?) was jaw-dropping.

And are my eyes deceiving or did that trailer show a mechanical panther (one of my faves,Ravage?)?

DS9 is fricking awesome. Season 6 & 7 are 2 of my favorite tv seasons ever. They put together an incredible ensemble cast.

Season 1 started slow, Season 2 picked up a little as they developed the personalities and Season 3 was a step above that. Thing really take off with Season 4, as DS9 got the writers from TNG, and Worf joined the cast. 4 incredible seasons after that.

Actually, Elvee, If you choose to check out the other Star Trek series, make a point of giving Deep Space Nine a fair shake.

It probably helps to have seen at least a few Next Gen episodes (at least as far as DS9's first few episodes go), but once that show really got its feet wet (last couple shows of season one, and the beginning of season two), it really took off and became one of the best, and perhaps most underrated, sci-fi shows ever.

They had a lot of latitude on that show as well, being that they were the "middle child" of the recent Treks (not to mention DS9 was a syndicated program while the later Voyager was used to launch a TV network that eventually failed, they really flew under the radar at Paramount and did some pretty ballsy stuff. But in spite of being the "darker, grittier Trek" it's still very much rooted in Roddenberry's idealism. And it also had a better sense of humor than any Trek since TOS itself.

Maybe watching "Trials And Tribble-ations" (season 5) is a good place to start for the TOS fan, then go back and start with season one remembering that all the Treks started off a little slow. Just give it a shot and I bet you'll get wrapped up in it.

I gotta say, Kumar as Chekov would be awesome...

Anyway, I don't know how Star Trek XI is going to go. It could be good, but it could be horrible if they forget its Star Trek and instead try to make it something it is not, like Star Wars...
(Not that I don't love Star Wars, but they are two different things aside from outer space, aliens, lasers, and babes in skimpy outfits.)

Revenge of the Fallen was a little dark looking... I hope the film won't mostly take place at night...

As a relatively recent convert to Trek, I am quite looking forward to the new movie. TOS had much more latitude for what they could do- foam rubber monsters, tribbles, metaphorical civics lessons, etc. Star Trek should be about adventure and the limitless power of ideas.

I'm a lifelong Transformers fan, and while I'm not crazy about the character designs in the live-action movies, as long as Peter Cullen is still Prime's voice they got my vote.

I wasn't looking forward to either film, and neither ad did a thing to sway me... The original Transformers fad was a little after my time, so I don't understand the appeal of a line of 80's toys turned into big budget movies.

OTOH, as a lifelong Trek fan, I don't like the idea of a reboot/reimagning/re-whatever. Since it's happening, however, I hope it doesn't suck. I'm not planning to see it unless I hear a lot of great things about it, so we'll see. Chris Pine as Kirk still isn't working for me ("Why are you talking to me, man?" - ugh), and I think that'll be ultimately holds me back from seeing it.

I wish WB had dropped new spots for Watchmen and Harry Potter on us during the game... But I guess WB's trying to play it cheap since they gotta pay FOX a bundle over Watchmen, and HP really doesn't need a Super Bowl spot to make its mint.

As for the rest of the ads, I think Super Bowl spots have gotten more and more crass over the years. I liked the lovelorn Clydesdale though, and the CareerBuilder ad was easily my favorite of the night... Probably because I could relate all too well? The fact that I'm typing this instead of doing any work says it all.

I wish WB had dropped new spots for Watchmen and Harry Potter on us during the game… But I guess WB’s trying to play it cheap since they gotta pay FOX a bundle over Watchmen, and HP really doesn’t need a Super Bowl spot to make its mint.

As for the rest of the ads, I think Super Bowl spots have gotten more and more crass over the years. I liked the lovelorn Clydesdale though, and the CareerBuilder ad was easily my favorite of the night… Probably because I could relate all too well? The fact that I’m typing this instead of doing any work says it all.

I can't stand the fact they're rebooting Star Trek, so Transformer's was the winner for me.

If we go by ads, Transformers got it. It just looks like the second part of a trilogy or something similar. Personally, my fave ad was the E-Trade babies. They're hilarious...
