It’s one of the many games getting great genre buzz this year, and even made out list of top 9 for ’09. It’s using the original cast, the original writers (who incidentally are one in the same). It is completely in continuity. It even picks up only a short time after the second movie, and according to Dan Aykroyd, has a story script 3-4 times the length of either movie. The Ghostbusters: The Video Game is bringing the franchise back in a huge way, and should be a boon to the reborn Atari when it comes out this June. Today, Atari released seven new screenshots, and from slime guns to close ups of digital Harold Ramis, it looks like this is going to at the very least keep the style of Ghostbusters intact. All screenshots are from the PS3 version of the game, and should match the Xbox360 version pretty well. Click Read More for the other six!

I’m pretty sure this is coming out for the Wii as well.

All of a sudden, I’m glad we dropped the $400 and got the PS3.

it IS coming out for the wii, but it is a much more cartoon-y version. they showed some screenshots for the wii version a few months back in an issue of Game Informer

Ghostbusters has never been called vaporware – they were showing screen shots and play samples back when it was first released. The thing that has delayed it was the original publisher going belly up and the game lying in limbo for a time before Atari picked it up. And odds they wouldn’t have picked it up UNLESS it was quite near completion.

Looks awesome. Can’t wait for this game.

Another reason for me to get a PS3

As much as I enjoy these higher resolution graphics, if the Wii version lets me use motion controls to throw the traps, I’m going to have to buy that one

I love how the game desingers basically just took the Condemned engine and layered over it with the Ghostbusters, as you can see from the FPS screen-shot. So the game will still suck.

Not really understanding why you’d say it’s the Condemned engine when there are videos out of this game clearly showing it’s a 3rd person game, whereas Condemned is a 1st person game. Sure, the PKE show looks a lot like Condemned, but the game is a 3rd person title.
