Barbie says: “Klingon is hard.”

If you want some more off-kilter Star Trek merchandise, this is your ticket.

Mattel has announced that it will be releasing three Barbie dolls in honor of the new Star Trek film on May 8th.

The dolls of Kirk, Spock, and Lieutenant Uhura will be sold on April 20th for $43.19.

While anatomically incorrect, these dolls are authorized to act on all United Federation planets!

LOL… But it´s really amazing! Mainly for all these Star Trek fans (or fanatics).
What we can see is, that there is always a possibility to make money and if you can know how to use it, then you can become rich!!!
Well in these case, we speak about a big big big enterprise, but in these times of crise, every effort is good to get out of the hole…
Well done for Mattel and I have to say, I surely will buy one of these products!!

Ick. Pass. On both the dolls and the movie.

I could have sworn they already did Star Trek barbies, but now I see these are based on the film, so that explains it.

Barbie has done more crossover merchandising than almost any other toy I can think of through its history. There might be an article there, chronicling all the different genre barbie dolls there have been.

I don’t remember any Barbies that were official “Star Trek” merch, but I had one when I was younger that’s gotta be a reference. She was African-American, had a short skirt and thigh-high boots, and she wanted to be a model or an actress. Her name was Nichelle, like Nichelle Nichols. (My apologies if that isn’t spelled right.) It’s too close to not be a coincidence.

No, there was an official Star Trek Barbie set with Ken and Barbie in original Trek uniforms. Picture here > http://www.1000barbies.com/047/SUC51498.JPG
