Today’s Variety has the nominations for the Costume Designers Guild Awards, and as you may have guessed, the two superhero box office titans are on the exclusive list.
Iron Man, designed by Laura Jean Shannon and Rebecca Bentjen, have received a nomination for Excellence in Contemporary Film — meanwhile, the Dark Knight, designed by Lindy Hemming, receieved a nomination for Excellence in Fantasy Film.
While the distinction between the two categories does feel a bit dubious, they still have to compete with big-name films like The Wrestler, Slumdog Millionaire, Sex and the City, Mamma Mia!, The Mummy, and Prince Caspian.
