A “Heroes” Return?

Insert Heroes (heroes.jpg)According to Entertainment Weekly, sources say that Bryan Fuller is about to make his   return to Heroes.  With Fuller’s Pushing Daisies, well, pushing daisies, it seems that he’s been in heavy talks with NBC.  These talks include a development and prodcution deal for creating new shows, AND his stepping back onto the network’s beleagured super-show.  Fuller, apart from creating Daisies and Wonderfalls, wrote the outstanding “Company Man”, considered by many to be the best episode in the entire Heroes run.  Fuller would indeed present a shot in the arm, but even joining now, his work might only impact the last couple of episodes of the primarily-written season.

What say you?  Good move, Hail Mary, or too late?

    Better late than never.

  2. johnny zito Says:

You could put Arron Sorkin and Grant Morrison on this show but it’s done for.

  3. Scott William Foley Says:

Too late. I’m a big believer in giving storylines a chance to play out, but this season of Heroes is just lazy, illogical, haphazard, and frankly insulting.

  4. Kelson Says:

The fanbase has turned against the show, and TV viewership seems to be down overall from what I’ve been reading. At this point, they could produce the most fantastic hour of television ever seen and it would still get reviled by half the people watching it and ignored by everyone else.

  5. KentL Says:

I’d have to say “too late” as well. I keep taping the show assuming that I’ll watch them eventually, but between the online criticism and my wife no longer being interested, I’m not sure I’ll ever get around to watching them. That said, we’re fans of Pushing Daisies, so bringing in Fuller would definitely help get interest from me and possibly from my wife.

  6. Jennifer de Guzman Says:

I’d rather have Pushing Daisies, thank you very much. It’s not a great use of Fuller’s talent to have him come on to try to make sense of show with the number of holes, loose ends, and plain ol’ eye-rolling moments that Heroes has.

Actually, I’ve been having fun with just how ridiculous Heroes has gotten lately.

  7. Brian Woods Says:

Given the general quality of NBC shows, I think Heroes has enough viewers to stay around. It’s sad to think what NBC has done to it, though. :(

  8. Gladiator X Says:

Fuller is wasted on Heroes because I, like many others apperantly, are just done with this show.
I would much rather have Pushing Daisies continue. It’s a good show.

  9. DBL Says:

After two-and-a-half seasons of utter crap (yes, the Season 1 finale was pretty disappointing and very much foreshadowed the dive the show was about to take), it’s way way WAYYYYY too late. Unless they pull a Dallas and make everything that happened after S1 a dream, I just don’t respect these characters’ stories anymore and don’t give a fig what happens to them. They make no sense; their decisions make no sense; they aren’t even serious attempts to appear like real people; and I have no respect for them or for the creative team behind them. Stick a fork in it. Sorry, Bryan Fuller — if you are responsible for the goodness at the beginning of Seaosn 1 of Heroes, then you are careful with characters and motivations and you are very talented. But at this point, it’s just over. Please move on to something else where you can actually make a difference. Here’s an idea: buy the rights to Invasion and continue that series! There’s something that’s unfinished that was never pissed all over and ruined.
