With Punisher: War Zone hitting theaters this weekend, Marvel is taking advantage by releasing a new digital history of Punisher (titled The Punisher Saga) on their website.  A free download, this will bring readers new and old up-to-date with Frank Castle’s long and blood-soaked history before the new Punisher #1 hits, and an all-new creative team will bring him in a new direction post-Secret Invasion.  The likelihood is that Castle’s new direction will see him interacting much more with the Marvel Universe, its heroes and villains than he has in years, not only because that’s what makes sense being tied into SI but also because the history they’re offering online features his less-than-notable run-ins with Venom, The New Warriors and other staples of the ’90s superhero universe.
