Comics now have friends in high places.
Well, at least as high up as an ambassadorship of children’s literature can take us. Jon Scieszka, author of The Stinky Cheese Man and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs and the Library of Congress’ first national ambassador to children’s literature, told NPR this weekend that children should be allowed to read what they want — especially comic books and graphic novels — as a gateway to the great works.

I love Scieszka! The “Time Warp Trio” is another of his (many) wonderful creations.
Has he ever written any comics? Seems like a great idea, if someone wanted to pick his vivid imagination for some ideas. I could imagine him creating the next “Bone” for instance. Something like that… Something all ages can read and equally enjoy without being talked down to.
