The New York Times published an interesting piece about a rarely-discussed facet of American life: our arts and entertainment’s impact abroad.
“What’s interesting about the last eight years is that polls show a decline in American attractiveness,” says Harvard professor Joseph S. Nye Jr. to the Times. ““But then you ask the follow-up questions and you see that American culture remains attractive, that American values remain attractive.”
And despite the questions regarding the fate of Bruce Wayne in this week’s Batman: R.I.P., one quote from a WB executive is quite clear on the longevity and impact of our heroes: “Batman is Batman, regardless of if Bush is in the White House or not.”
