Watch a Wolverine and the X-Men trailer

Wolverine and the X-Men

Marvel has released what I believe is the third trailer for Wolverine and the X-Men, the animated series set to debut Jan. 23 on Nicktoons.

It looks surprisingly good — good enough that those tired of seeing Wolverine everywhere may overlook his front-and-center role in the cartoon. Hey, how else are they to capitalize on that Wolverine movie?

You can watch the trailer after the break. Marvel’s website also offers a brief behind-the-scenes video with some of the voice cast.

Just a second. I thought I had already seen an episode of this on YTV or Teletoon or something here in Canada.

It debuted in Canada in September, I believe. Nickelodeon apparently is pulling an Avatar on the U.S. audience.

¿Another Dark Knight voice? It does look good.

In argentina it’s been on the air since september monday to friday, so we’ve seen the whole fist season already. The show it’s great, Evolution was better animated but this one is really tight in continuity if you compare it to the comic books. In the first episode the x-men have been around for a while so the roster is inmense, with characters like hellion from new x-men appearing on several episodes.

There are a lot of episodes that are focused on wolverine going solo, and it’s weird seeing him in the leader role, but it’s still in character, so it doesn’t hurt either. It’s wierd seeing cyclops take orders from him, but he is in no condition to lead, which is great because he becames the loner and the badass of the team, but never breaking character.

The last episode has a very cool cliffhanger for those who have been reading x-men for a long time.

    (sorry if my english sucks…)

Meh, I think not. I’m guessing from the roster in the teaser image that this is taking place when Jean is dead, though.

I’ve been cheating and hunting down the episodes as they air in Canada–and I’ll tell you this: THIS CARTOON IS SOLID.

I was floored by the 3 episode pilot in San Diego…because it’s truly the best parts of all of the incarnations of X-Men in comics, film, and cartoons.

Each week is more and more fun than the last–I think most folks will be really satisfied by this show.

I’m wondering since the show is available in widescreen if it was developed in HD? Haven’t been able to confirm it yet but it would be great to get this show on Blu-Ray
