Whatever film cred Miller gained from 300 will evaporate when (or if) this mess is allowed to hit the theatres (I’m thinking there’s a good chance one of the higher ups will spike it).

Let’s see…a character who nobody outside of comic book/comic art circles is even aware of, as focused through the funhouse mirror of Miller’s stale misogyny and soft core sadism.

It’s got “hit” written all over it, doesn’t it?

The director doesn’t approve the poster, the producer and the studio’s marketing department do–so they get the blame for the earlier poster, which botched the classic “Spirit” splash-page composition (“My City Screams” should have been up at the top and “The Spirit” should have been spelled out in the building, not the other way around).

I saw the latest “Spirit” trailer with “Quantum of Solace” over the weekend, and I really wish it felt more like Eisner and less like Miller. I understand the need to link this film to “300″ and “Sin City” (“From the creator of…!), but everything I’ve seen so far just screams Miller.

This poster is poop. It says nothing. I’m sure the movie is just as rudderless.

I wonder why Frank Miller, who is so great at coming up with iconic images, would approve this?

ugh, that tagline is bland and punch-less. the marketing for this movie continues to be mediocre. no idea if they’re screwing the film over or really don’t have much to work with…
